I pulled the trigger and bought the black C7 Z51s. I got a very good price and I am getting sick of the chrome. If I really hate them I can always just go back to the old rims.

I like it how it sits... I don't like the c7 wheels, let alone on a c5 and in black on top of that... if you want a nice set of polished wheels why not get a set of ccw, fikse, or something along those lines

Chrome will look very, hmmm, normal...and it will not contrast very much against the silver paint. (I do like chrome rims on black painted cars)
Overall, I'd pick black rims over chrome.
BLACK rims will contrast the silver color of your car and also make it look more tougher/meaner.
I don't however like/suggest matte or satin black, as I prefer gloss black. Even when clean, matte or satin looks very dull/boring to me...gloss black however (if kept clean) has some "pop".
If you're like me, some days you will still question whatever decision you make.

Along with color you should also consider weight. We spend all kinds of money for more horsepower then lose a tremendous amount adding unsprung weight by putting on heavy cast wheels.
I also think that gloss black should look good with your color. Maybe with a polished lip.
