In my opinion if that dealer lets it go to you for $15k out the door which would mean the selling price would be about $13,900 or maybe a little more...I think you got a heck of a deal OR the dealer knows something about the car that you don't..sometimes a killer deal is just that killer..I would be wary my friend. I think $18,000 is in the ball park and is within the realm of possibilities to sell that car if it is as solid as it seems to be from you.

Lowest they would go is $16250 otd which is still not bad. Trying to see what kind of rate they are going to get me. My credit isn't that great. But I repaired it a little while back. Nothing in collections anymore and all paid off. Had a bad divorce about 3 years ago. Have finally recovered. So my credit has gone from 500 to a current 629. It's been a journey. This is like a gift to myself

Very nice. Thank you very much, I plan to do a lot of preliminary research.

That sounds like a pretty fair deal especially if they can work out the financing. Good luck!

Well, unfortunately we could not come to a deal. In the end they ended up wanting no less that $17500. I guess the sales guy never got 16k approved through his manager. They wanted to charge me 12.99% interest rate. I said screw that.

I found another Z06 shortly after. It was an 02, super clean with only 40k. It was silver. All original one owner car. They wanted $18k before fees which was reasonable. Again, we couldn't come to a deal because of the high interest rate.

I've decided to wait on a Z and continue fixing my credit. I hired a credit repair attorney who is a friend of my girlfriend. He's really cool and already started the process.

In the meantime, I will continue to save my money and try this again in about 6 months. I should have about 7k in my hands and will be in a much better position to buy a used Z. I will post up again as soon as I begin another Z hunt. I will also look in here before buying elsewhere.

Try to get in with a credit union while you're at it. Also, if you get 12.99%, five payments should bump your credit enough to refinance at a reasonable rate.

I will take your advice. I'm shooting for a 700 score and an almost clean credit record in the next 6 months from what the attorney told me. I'm even thinking about a C6 Z06 now if I decide to trade my truck in.

But in the meantime, I will wait. Thanks again guys.

Also, people are always talking crap about the C5Z interior. I don't give a **** about the interior. As long as it's clean I'm good. If I wanted fancier and more comfortable interior, I'd buy a ctsv.

Here are the pics of the Z. These are from the dealership website. What do you guys think after seeing the pics? I'm leaning on your guys advice 100%, since you are all Vette owners. This would be my first. I'm not scared of the mileage. I worked at Chevy for 10 years and saw many Vettes over the 200k mark. Mostly the 1997+ Vettes.

$16,000 would be around $14,700 + fees. Thats a solid deal especially given its in California and you need to finance.

They were asking $21500. They are down to $18488. That's advertised.

I don't see them coming down another $3500 without sitting at $18,488 for quite a while, but good luck

They've been sitting at $18k+ for over a month now. The Internet manager just emailed me and said they can do it for $17500 before taxes/fees. Hmmmmm, I know they can go lower than that.

Ah, I forgot which car we were talking about and that they had come down to $16,250 before... have you secured better financing? I thought that was your main issue last time.
