Default Toyo R888, Stock Wheels for C5Z

Anybody running r888's? I'm looking at running:

Front: 275/40ZR17 Toyo Proxes R888 Blackwall

Rear: 305/35ZR18 Toyo Proxes R888 Blackwall

Any clearance/traction control problems at this size?

Im not running them myself but it depends on your power level I'd say. They are great tires mainly used for road racing in the import scene, not drag racing.

If your at stock power levels, those should hold just fine. Expensive tires, but good stuff.

Thanks! I road race over here. Should be around 500whp with new setup ;-)

There's not much else that can handle that level of power at that price. PS2 Cups might but they are $$$

I am running those exact tires with no clearance issues. Love them, hook up well.

Have same setup, no rubbing.

Although I SWEAR that the R888 305 in the back made the backend softer then when I had 295/35/18 NT05's in back.
Luckily my shocks are adjustable, so I can stiffen them up to compensate.

I just ordered them - they are having a sale on Toyo tires at Tires Direct, my total was only 1,077.89 including shipping. I am putting down 640 to the tires, and wanted something streetable, yet grippy enough to lay down the power, and handle excellent. From the research I have done, these are the perfect tire for that.

I ran 888s in those sizes for years before I went to square set up.
No problem whatsoever.

Problem is that sidewall will be smaller on rear tires than fronts. Looks funny (not in a good way)

I just got them installed, they look good to me. The sizes are +1 on both fronts and rears, so the sidewall difference between the rears and fronts are very similar to stock.

Exactly

If the stock tire sidewall proportions look fine to you, +10 fitment will look fine to you too

Most people don't care about a 1/4" difference in sidewall height between the front and rear tires

has been a common combo for years, work great. little bit sticky for stock suspension though. the love boat feeling can come out when you start bringing the Gs up
