What's the story with this:
I have trans fluid leaking where the trans & differential connect...is it just a sea or a sensorl, ya think? (2003 Z06; 68K miles). Thanks.

Drifting
Check Diff fluid level, often they are over fill a bit them, and when the diff gets hot it will blow out excess out the breather on top.

Had this happen on my 01 zo6. It was coming out between the trans & expansion housing which is the piece betwee the trans & diff. It ended up being the rear seal on trans leaking into the expansion housing & dripping out the seam between trans & housing. The fix was to drop the entire rear drivetrain assembly & separate the trans, from the expansion housing & diff to replace seal.
On a side note it took the dealer 3 attempts to get it fixed right as they ended up damaging the expansion housing & having to replace it.

Cruncher,
Are you sure that it is not leaking from the rear of the trans, where the case & tail shaft housing case bolts together.
My 03 has a very minor leak (red fluid) at that junction.
If it is leaking there, it's not a gasket.
At the factory before they bolt those two section together, they applied a black sealant between the two.
After a few years, that sealant breaks down/deteriorates & begins to leak.

put mine up on jack stands, loosened the bolts, pried them apart enough to put a bead of black RTV in there, tightened it back up, & that was the last time i saw drips on the floor

By the way, the Tech did an alignment after the car was put together since the rear axel was dropped (along with the exhaust and other stuff). Luck that I had a loaner car and an expert Tech that I've used for several years.

My sensors just wore out. I use mostly Chevron gas; if I can't get Chevron, I'll use Mobil, Exxon, or Shell. I also use Techron once a quarter.
On Friday I picked up my Z06 for an $1800 repair; there was a leak between the the trans & the differential. Again, the exhaust was dropped, as was the rear axle. My Z06 was the second one in a row that the tech had waiting...another week for this repair (GM sent the wrong seals). Lucy the dealership gave me a loaner, again.

$1800 is a steep price but it's your money

Le'me see...based on your comment, I would have 2 choices: 1) run it into the ground until all the fluid is gone and destroy a transmission & differential, or 2) take the vehicle to a shyster who will patch it up with some glue or bubble gum.

it could have competently been fixed for far less than what you paid... most shops don't even charge that much for a clutch swap which is quite a bit more work than what was done to your car... next time you visit that dealer go ahead and bring a bottle of ky with you, apparently that isn't complimentary with their service

Just put a new diff in mine and I had the same leak. Just took the tail housing off the transmission and applied some heavy duty gasket maker. Sealed it right up. Here is a couple pics of what it looks like apart.
