Does your friend have this unit? If so, call the vendor

Just an FYI ,I have LMC-5 deal myself. Never with the key on turn the wheel if you got the LMC installed or not the code will come on and a week later and some work will go off. JUST AN FYI... I think I was told to just drive it would go off in time I did it did..

I bought a by pass off ebay put it on got the pull key message, no matter what I did I got the message.
I took if off contacted the seller he gave me a bunch of stuff to try, still did it.
I sent it back then got another from texas speed, just like I had on 2 other c5's.
Put that one on worked perfect, never another message.

by chance has his car been undriven for awhile?
if so, typically a few cycles of turning engine off and on (during the course of regular driving, parking, etc.) and driving for awhile will make it go away.
this literally just happened to me yesterday. car's been sitting a long time. i have the bypass as well, best investment in the car i've ever made. it was literally the first "mod" i did to the car back when new.

On my car I had to erase all the codes on the dic, then disconnected the battery. After that the code never came Back for column lock after the bypass

Installed the LMC5 couple years ago on my 04Z, never got the code. Even when my original battery lost a cell. (low voltage will trigger the lock)
