I have them on my car. I think my fronts are 275's and rears are stock 295's. they dont feel mushy to me at all. car felt "Shifty" when turning like the rear shifts a little before hooking, that was corrected with an alignment. feels good not. If you had a runflat on the car previously then they might feel a little soft, the sidewalls of a runflat are hard to start with..

I am happy with the Conti DW on my vette (mostly street driven), next go around i do want more width in the back for better traction.

width has little influence on actual traction. there's some but the majority is in compound, if you want more traction use a better compound.

if you want that fast turn in and quick response you'll be buying the pss

you can improve things a bit with the alignment bringing the front toe close to zero and only going .01 or .02 in each side rather than stock

also toe in the rear .04-.05 each side, really helps with stability and will not increase wear with such a small amount.

i like the DW for what it is. i just accept the fact that the tires do their thing and are a little squeeshy in doing so. they work though, they are predictable and they outperform most in that utqg/price

I live in the Dallas area too and have the same setup. 275 up front and 295 in the rear, got an alignment when I put the tires on. Does anyone feel the rotation of the front tires when going about 80+? Steering is responsive, but car definitely has wobble through the wheel. only at high speeds. any suggestions? would a 255 up front be better?

I'v run both, with 255s up front now, and both sizes have balanced out true. (on stock rims).
With that said, they have that radial tread, and it dose want to follow any grove in the road surface. (when new).

Mark, I do notice the following the road groves much more than I did with the khumos and firestones I previously had, same probably would apply with PSS as the have same type tread pattern. hopefully shocks on this week and alignment and will report back.

Your right the PS2s did the same thing (AKA following the road groves). They also road stiffer, (AKA quicker turn in) and they also cupped then corded the inner edge of the fronts way before the rears were worn in the centers. And Yes I still have the same alignment and have not realigned it and the DWs (last set) fronts (that were 275s)wore evenly across the tread. We will see over time how the small cross section 255s do.

I had the DW's and I thought I was riding on beach *****, hated them. The turn in, and especially a set of switchbacks was awful.

Pulled them off and put on Pilot Super Sports, AHHHH...much better. Killer tires, only a little more money for so much more performance.

If you bought the DW from tire rack you can send them back FYI

While I'm not necessarily debating the Michelins aren't a better track tire, to say that they are only a 'little' more money is a complete fabrication. They cost 2 and 1/2 times as much and due to their tread wear rating will likely last half as long.

The PSS has a 300 tread wear rating, The DW has a 340 tread wear rating. The PSS are my daily tires.

Tire rack has them on sale with a $70 cash back card at the moment.

Difference for my sizes 275/35/18 and 295/35/18 was $244 between the two.

With the $70 gift card it was $175 difference, no brainer for me.

I had these conti DW on my E92 M3 that i had before i traded it in for the 2015 C7 Stingray . Those tires were one of the best tires i ever used . They were great in the rain had incredible traction and excellent in dry weather as well. They are really good performance tires .so if you have them you shouldn't have any issues .

it's even better actually. the pss has such a stable casing and large tread blocks the wear is even better. there are already reports of 30k miles out of a set on various cars with tame alignments

michelin has spent a lot of time getting a tire to work on the audi prototype cars that get such good gas mileage on the race track. this allows them to stay out longer on each set. the tech was a trickle down into the pss which outperforms the 220utqg ps2 in absolutely every area

Where the hell do you buy your tires!? For me I had all 4 conti's installed for $825, and for pss it was like $1400. If it had been ~1000 for the pss I would go that route over the conti's, but not for $1400

PSS or PS2's? I had all 4 PSS installed (275-35-18 and 295-35-18) for about $1,250 at Discount Tire. Continental's were about $1,000 in those sizes. The PS2's would have been closer to $1,500.

you're confusing tire names and making this thread hard to follow since people are talking about two different things

Considering you can't find pss for oem wheels, I assume that others are confusing tire names, not I. I assumed that people talking about the "pss" for oem wheel sizes were in reality talking about ps2's. If someone can find a set of pss that will fit my oem wheel setup, I will stand corrected. I did type pss once by accident instead of ps2, but I now see that the person telling me the prices wasn't looking at a 17/18 size option, making his post completely useless to the thread

I suppose that I should clarify my thought process. OP posted about the DW for oem wheels. Someone else posted and said "the pss is better and not much more" to me, I thought to myself that the second poster was meaning to say "the ps2 is better" considering you can't get the pss for oem wheels. As it turns out the second poster was talking about tires that weren't even an option for the op.
