Default Should Z cars be split by gens at shows

Z brothers and sisters, I have a consern and will like your opinions. Last week I was at the Lake Tahoe corvette show and all Z car generations were judged under the same category ( C5, C6, ZR-1 and C7's) as you all can imagine the C7's cleaned the awards. The only difference between the car was the colors, blue, white and black, other than that they were the same cars out of the dealers and driven to the show.

At the award banquet me and some of the other gen Z cars owners got together to talk about if this was going to be the norm on the car show season. Don't get me wrong I love vettes no matter year or customization but let's be real the new Z's come out of the factory looking bad *** already. So the question is should the show organizers separate the Z cars by generation or should all of us just watch the new C7 Z's clear the house every time. By the way at the Lake Tahoe show we had some serious looking C5Z,C6Z and four ZR-1's. Thanks for your opinion !!!!

Not for nothing, but judged car shows are a joke. The people that win are generally have some pull with the judging field. plus the c7z's are new and exciting for the car show circuit.

Save your money, buy a c8z when it comes out and show all those c7z owners who's boss...

Judged or peep's choice ? A truly judged show will be correctly categorized by year and level of customization. Peep 's choice is usually who you know and which car club is most represented Doesn't sound like you were in a true judged show. Even if advertised to be one.

At least when our Z's are sitting in a parking lot we don't have to worry about breaking anything.

I heard u brother, I just posted that to heard the brotherhood opinion. It just shock me how some of your own corvette peers vote when it comes to the shows. By the way I love the C4 Zr1's and at the show we had couple of good examples. I still believe all Z's should be split by year, they are the special breed.

Last show that I went to it was each gen. My 04 Z06 was in with all C5's. The only thing I realy hate is that if you are a lone wolf and not a member of a club your chance of winning anything is very low. Some clubs roll 10 - 20 deep to car shows and will vote for their own. Oh well I go to shows because I love looking at great cars, winning anything is just an added bonus.

my answer is no, Marilyn Monroe wouldn't win any awards today.
your Z is over the hill, looks don't last, enjoy her personality or get a new perky 21yr old

We have a yearly Corvette show local here and it judges (the crowd picks the top 3) by class - C1/C2/C3/C4/C5/C6/C7 and they also break-out between Coupes and Verts, so 14 classes.

I did the car show thing from 2006-2009, and I got fed up with it. Spend hours of detailing, drive to car show, pay, park, clean again, towels down around 9AM, and wait 5 hours for results. To find out a dirty Vette that belongs to the NCCC governor wins because the Vette Club wants to kiss his ***.

if you go to a car show to and expect to win then your in for a big let down, with that said if its a vette only show then yes i think they people hosting should break it down between each gen c5z/c6z/c7z, only because its make the playing field more even
