Default Slp loudmouth

I have SLP LOUDMOUTH mufflers and hate them. I'm considering putting stock C5 mufflers on till I can afford Flowmaster or some other brand. Cons of doing this ?
2004 Z06 long tube headers high flow cats right now

They're definitely not for everyone, i've been running them for as long as i've had the car and i LOVE them. I'd really recommend the Corsa Extreme or the Corsa Pace Car if you're looking for a milder sound.

Maxx when I have the cash to spend on good mufflers those will be considered for sure. Right now a stock 04 C5 pair is all I have to replace the SLP mufflers. Will they affect the car negatively in the mean time ?

No they wont at all. You will be fine. Are you wanting to sell the loudmouths?

Absolutely. I plan on putting an ad up once they are off the car.

I have LG street long tubes and high flow cats with SLP loudmouths. I love the sound it puts out, really aggressive but on freeway cruises it gets annoying but in town absolutely amazing sound!

I bought stock C5 mufflers Saturday for $40 and I'm having the SLP loudmouth mufflers cut off and those welded on. When I can afford to buy decent mufflers I will but for now going quiet.

why not just bolt them on instead of welding?

there's a local set of ti's I saw for sale.

I'm my opinion long tubes and ti's are the bees knees

here's what mine sounds like with that combo (cammed as well)

I finally got my lowered Z06 up on the air last Sunday morning (mid 90's). I thought there were supposed to be SLP mufflers on the car. All I saw was straight pipe from the cats to the tail pipe.
Last night I bought stock Z06 pipe and mufflers. I am waiting for it to arrive from California. I paid $290 shipped. I will try to get $150 for the pipe and tips but we'll see. I won't give it away because there is a guy who wants these out there to go deaf.
I also saw right away where the flange and bolts are to connect my mufflers.

I'm going to get them off this Saturday. After they are off and I can photograph them I will post pics and you can make up your mind. Your description matches perfectly what's on the car.

They retail for $800. I posted them on Craigslist for $400 and have had several inquiries within 24 hrs. I found stock 2003 Z06 mufflers and pipe out of California for $290 shipped and jumped on it. I'm getting it to a muffler shop this morning and installed. The SLP loudmouths will sell sooner or later. They can gather dust before I give them away. As for the stock C5 mufflers I bought out of desperation I will let them go for $60. Again they can gather dust before I sell them any cheaper. I will get under the car today and take some pictures. The guy I bought the car from did the job of installing the cats himself and used clamps rather than weld them in. To avoid any possible exhaust leak in the future I will have them both welded in. No more ******** stares from people as I drive my car from the very LOUD straight pipe. To each his own on that one. Maybe I am getting too old ?

You're not getting too old

I bought my H/C/I/longtube/high-flow cat Z06 ay 27 and it came with the Loudmouth axleback as well, which IS a straight pipe exhaust. I test-drove it and immediately found a set of factory Ti mufflers for $300, then sold the Loudmouths for at least $400. It sounds sweet now, not too damn loud to put up with. I had the exhaust swapped within 8 hours of purchase, and I wore earplugs on my way to install them. The Loudmouth is a good exhaust for an otherwise-stock car; otherwise, you better already be deaf.
