Shake at 65mph after putting on TSWs
I've been digging all over the forum and not sure where to start. Steering wheel shakes at 65 mph (though not when turning), I've had it balanced 3 times and even had one of the Pilot Super Sports changed out. I'm going to go back to the replica wheels I had but if that doesn't rectify the situation, what part do I look at first? I don't seem to have play in the wheel bearings in the front either. Thanks guys

Balanced 3 times and each time they were correct? Or had to have weights added/removed to correctly balance them? In other words did each time the machine read zero? And they just said they were good. Or did each time they have to re balance them because it was off? Also same shop/machine each time or new places?
Sounds like a balance issue, especially if it just happened with the new wheels. How much power are you making? Does it shake right away or after some driving and maybe some pulls? I've had my tires spin on the rim and keeps throwing the balance off (650hp) after a WOT pull from low speeds.

TSWs aren't hub centric. Did you remember to install the black plastic centering rings?

Air bubble in old tire caused shaking for me at 70+.
Shake went away after tire warmed up.
Any chance this could be it?

I'm taking it to a different shop tomorrow. They're going to look at the tie rods and the balancing. But yes, each time it was re balanced. One of the times the tire wasn't "round" and that tire was replaced. Nothing changed. I am investigating the hub centering rings as well. I was led to believe that TSW Corvette wheels didn't need them?
The car is stock aside from a Blackwing intake. It does it cruising around 65 mph on the freeway, not under acceleration.

If each time it was rebalanced there's an issue with the tire moving on the rim or the weights falling off or something... Mark the valve stem after it gets balanced and see if it moves on the tire. Count the weights and mark those and make sure they are all still there...
A shake could be caused by something suspension related (wheel bearings, tie rods... Etc) but it wouldn't throw off the balance of the wheel if it was zero'd out... Or you just need a better balancer and it's not being done correctly but you only feel it at highway speeds

This happened to me after getting new wheels in my TA. I took it to OCMD for the Cruisin show and it only did it the on the trip back home so I figured it was due to the new wheels and the tires being worn down over time helped to stop it.

I find aftermarket wheels to be a pain sometimes, what I have been doing when I get a shake is changing the position of the wheel.
I use my valve stem as a marker, then mark the stud then I move the wheel as close to half a turn as I can, usually 2 studs to the right or left.
The balance point of the rotor might be off giving you a shake this might stop it or cut it down.

Use this to find a shop that has a road force balancer, then take it to them:

Update: put the old front replica wheels back on and no vibration on the freeway. Vendor is sending me 2 new front wheels and tires. Hopefully this is the end of my problems.

I had mine balanced 5 times. No change. Had a tire replaced and no change. All told, I had 7 tires and 6 wheels, and couldn't get rid of the shake at 65 mph. I finally threw in the towel and bought a set of OEMs on Ebay. The vendor ended up giving me the full refund plus they discounted the NT05s they sent for the OEM rims.

I have had my Nurburgrings on the car for 4+ weeks now and no issues at all. The ride is just as smooth as the factory wheels were.

Maybe it was a bad batch of wheels? I put my Interlagos on my dads '02 w/ F45 suspension and it did the same thing. Neither car is "high mileage" or worn out (my car has 36k miles and his has 18k miles) so there really was nothing wrong with the cars.
