Garage door opener!? Mine is small and can't even come close to fitting in there. I wish it did. Instead I "store" mine tucked in the parking brake boot (I hate the clamp onto the visor method).
As others, I also often put my phone in the "cup" holder, stays put pretty good, usually though it just stays in my case.

I thought that was the external GPS receiver holder for interfacing to Harry's Laptimer. Cell phone is mounted to the windshield so that Harry's can record video of the track.

It was an upgrade for the C5. In my C4 they used Trumps brain. That's why they are contact lens holders.

Mine works fine. If you think that's shallow cup holder check out the Gen 3 & 4 Viper cup holder. Now that was ridiculous.

Yeah, it is a key fob remote, so fits nicely. You can probably order one for your opener model.
