I am looking at this Z and the dealer has little info on it. The carfax is clean but it's been through 6 different owners. Thats a lot for only 12,xxx miles. It's had some mods done maybe even a 427?? Just don't want to drive 300 miles and it be a piece of crap. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

It really does me too. I want more infor on the work done to the car too. I also know that a carfax doesn't always show everything.

6 owners and 12k miles would always worry me. takes less than 30 minutes to alter mileage in a c5 and a modded one on top of it

if you're looking to pay dealer prices you will find better cars

lot of 100k mile c5s are 1-3 owner cars...whole lot actually

How does the dealer not know if it has a 427?

They don't claim it does. I was looking at the throttle body and it's not an LS6. But their ad has a laminated shot of a 427. So I really don't know. The more I keep talking about it, the more I'm talking myself out of it. I would much rather have a 1 or 2 owner car. Don't really want a problem child. I was mesmerized by the go fast goodies. Or as my wife would say "shiny"

it may not be a problem car, but what it sounds like is a gamble

what you're looking to pay matters a lot. if this car is a great deal it may be worth considering. if they are talking mid 20s there are too many other deals out there that don't make you wonder

I would be afraid that that 12k was at a 1/4 mile at a time. If that is the real milage.

I ran an autocheck on the car and it says 3 owners. Reason for that is owner 1-4 is the same just titled it in 2 diffrent states and change of address witch the owner updated and changed the title info. So owner 1-4 is the same and orginal owner. And then 2 diffrent owners. Hope that helps.

Carfax shows 6 owners, but I think an owner can change states, and Carfax shows new owner.

It shows owner 1-4 then owner 5 and then owner 6 owner 1-4 says they had it for 3 years and 8 months. owner 5 was 8 months and owner 6 was 7 years and 11 months.

So now I find out it does have a crate LS7with a FAST intake and different exhaust and better clutch. What to do....what to do....

Tru dat! They were really pushing to move it before the end of the month. Ha, now I haven't heard a peep from them.

The LS7 I purchased was $14,500 installed. Quite expensive. But, it has jewelry for internals - forged crank, titanium connecting rods.

Not sure why 6 owners is scary. Take the car to the trusted shop of your choice for a look.
