Best way to convert 2001 Z06 to standard suspension..
I'd like to convert my 2001 Z06 to a softer ride. What about to the standard suspension. There must be piles of them around.

May I be the first to say please don't. Why not throw an LS1 in there for a smoother idle, maybe an auto tranny, 2.73 gears...
Sorry but I would find it sad to detune a Z. To each their own.

I have both, a Vert and a Z06.
I like the ride of the Vert for a daily. I like the ride of the Z06 for track days and weekend fun.
You can change the leaf springs in your Z06, to coupe/vert to soften the straight line ride. Then upgrade the sway bars to a set of Hotchkiss to bring back the cornering ability.
You didn't mention shocks. Stay away from the Bilsteins if your trying to keep the ride soft.

try the conti dw for a tire. it's very compliant and you can operate them around 28psi with no problems
suspension isn't really going to be less harsh if you convert to base, tires are a big big part of what you feel
the 01 also used the stiffest shocks of all. moving to 04 shocks will help that jar compliance

My wife took a fall and wears a neck brace when we drive. I probably do need new shocks, since I'm the original owner of over 15 years and have never changed them (110,000 mi)
Tires and smooth shocks sounds good. The roads here in the desert are really quite terrible. And, we're going to take a 2000 mi drive this winter.
This car has been remarkably reliable, and always puts a smile on my face!
