the 2011+ mustangs have a 6 speed tranny called the MT-82. They switched from the trusted tremic to this Mexican/Chinese made one and its causing all sorts of problems/complaints. Would stay far away from that one. (the coyote motor and looks are good, as well as everything else, just the tranny is bad)
My 03 Z shifts just fine-not perfect yet, but acceptable and not bad at all. I have had two different shifters and have a Twin Disk clutch for a lighter pedal feel. I too, have driven many other cars. Nothing else, and I mean nothing, can beat the Z for the price. a base c6 is a downgrade to me as well. I say test drive one, actually wind it out, and love it for a very long time! You also have to consider weight into the equation... my car is over 500hp and weighs 3080
