Default Brake pad opinions

Need some new shoes on my z06. If I don't just buy oem shoes what are good options for a z06 that is only street driven. I'm fine with the same amount of dust and noise as the stockers but I thought something aftermarket may work even better?
Thanks for any input guys.

I think the overwhelming majority would recommend Hawk as at least the most popular brand maybe with Carbotech running a distant second. Within each brand are different pads for different applications--street, 'combo', and flat out racing.

I think I'm in the insignificant minority (I'll bet less than 5%) that chose Akebono. I arrived at that brand choice through a Lingenfelter search, but I bought them pretty cheaply at RockAuto.

All three 'street' versions promise less brake dust; I'd recommend the Akebono. From my experience, I don't think I'll ever get off that brand for any of my vehicles now. They stop 'WAY better than the GM OEM.

I've been happy with Stoptech street performance pads for street use. Less dust than oem, no squeaks and have worked fine for street driving. Cheap too.

I would go to the Carbotech 1521 pad. This is a high quality brake pad that is 100% made in the USA quiet low dust still performs like OE with no issue plus the dust is a 100% non corrosive will not harm your wheels or paint.. If interested I will be happy to help you,

Front $140 Rear $120

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I am a huge fan of Akebono. Excellent stopping power. Very little to no brake dust.
