< 65 K = Average 22K (in very good to excellent shape)
< 100 K = Average 20K (in very good shape

2003 Z06
< 20K = Average 26 K (in excellent shape)
< 40K= Average 24K (in very good to excellent shape)
< 65K = Average 22K (in very good to excellent shape)
<100 K _Average 20K (in very good to excellent shape)

2002 Z06
<20K = Average 25K (in excellent shape)
<40 K = Average 23K (in very good to excellent shape)
<65 K = Average 21K (in very good to excellent shape)
<100K = Average 19.5K (in good to very good shape)

2001 Z06
< 20K = Average 23 K (in excellent shape)
<40 K = Average 20K (in very good to excellent shape)
< 65K = Average 18K (in very good to excellent shape)

Sounds about right. Still a lot of car for the money and "raw".

I was in the market for a c5 z06 about a month ago. These are my observations

Observations
I have only been looking for about a year and noticed that the C5 Z06 has kept its value well. Maybe a market depreciation of $1,000 in the last year.
Baseline- Z06 20,000 miles KBB trade in very good condition
2004.....$24,648
2003.....$22,046.....difference from previous year $2,602
2002.....$20,854.....difference from previous year $1,192
2001.....$18,947.....difference from previous year $1,907
2000.....$17,472.....difference from previous year $1,475

Just for a reference I was able to secure an 04' Z06 with 18,000 in great condition for $24k a month ago. I would consider this a fair deal, as any dealership would've probably offered 23kish. I was also speaking with a vintage car dealer and they said right now is peak price time for sports cars in regards to the season. Hope this helps.

Gonna be tough to trust your data.

You ever driven one if those 2000 z06's? I hear those things really fly.

Agree, the 01-04 market as a whole has been trending upwards the past 18 months, coming from a new car dealer friend.

These cars certainly aren't great 'investments' but it is good to see they aren't depreciating much at all. I've put 10k on mine in 5 years and I could still get pretty close to what I paid for it. A lot more fun than a next to zero interest savings account that's for sure

I couldn't agree more. Cash in the bank at 0% or C5Z with 0%ish return but tons of fun.

hahah isn't that the truth. I bought mine in the low twenties and have dumped about 30k into it (motor, trans, clutch, supercharger etc) no way I will ever get all that money back unless I part it out and return it to stock which may happen.

Considering I strongly recall 50k mile Z06's in the 16k-19k range in 2011, I'd say the fact they've risen is pretty obvious. I bought my 50k mile, clean title, never tracked, only modded with headers and a vararam Z06 in 2011 for 17.5k and the guy delivered it. 2 owner car, perfect in every way, via this forum. I had a choice of cars at that time also. 20k was buying 20k mile cars.

I've been in the market for a Z06 for about 5 months. I was looking to spend about 18K total. I was ecstatic when I found KBB and NADA prices putting 02-04 LS6 Z06s in the 15-18K price range for about 50-100K miles. Know how many dealers and private sellers priced them that low? ZERO. Lowest I found was 15K and that was a salvaged title.
I found a few with 100K miles with an asking price of about $18-20K, and I figured I could throw the NADA/KBB numbers at them at get them to come down. Not a single dealer went down 1 dollar.

So here was I was thinking that the market is going to put me in one for an easy 15-16K, but I couldn't find a single one within 500 miles that was priced where it should be.
I ended up getting an 02 Z in immaculate shape from a private sale with 70K miles for $20,500. I tried to deal with dealers through email and through the phone and show them what others were going for... not a single one cared.
I drove 6 hours away to Dallas to look at 4, and to talk to these places face to face and say "Look, I'm at your door step and am willing to buy it RIGHT Now if the price is reasonable. You've got a down turned economy in an oil rich state, no one's buying these toys right now. I'll walk off the lot with it if you can make the price at least CLOSE to what NADA says it should be."

Not a single one of them budged. Even when I pointed out problems like chipped clearcoat or an obvious harmonic balancer problem... "Well you gotta remember it's a 14 year old car man!"
"Oh, then why are you pricing it like a 10 year old car with half the mileage?"

So yeah. The Zs are up there in price right now. I totally thought I could get one for 15-16K. Didn't happen. I spent $20,500 and I'm more than happy with it. It did come with Forgestar F14s and was SUPER clean, so I'm totally stoked about that.

Looks nice. How many miles, and did it have a clean title?

Are people buying lower miles one driving them? There seem to be a ton of garage queens out there.

My 110k mile plus will be up for sale this year likely. Looking to get around what I bought it for. Upgraded somethings here and there...

I bought this last summer 24k miles for $24k out the door. it was on the lot for 100 days and their original price was $27,000. i negotiated for over 2 weeks, went 40 miles away to another dealer just to get numbers to bargain with from them, they had a MY '02 with 34k miles and wanted $3000 more for it and it was an auction bought car from ohio, mine was a private trade in on a grand sport. You just gotta know how to play the game.

its got 30k miles on it now and make 430whp

Shopping with my wive because 24 hours ago I bought a 02 c5z. Bad *** and I had some of the same reservations as the OP. But once I found a nice car, no question. I'm 150 miles into it and it keeps getting better and better.
