Default Thoughts on This 01 Z06?

Hey everyone,

I've been hunting for the right C5 Z now for a while, came across this one recently, and was curious just to get some opinions from the folks here on the forum.

I've really been wanting an 04 Z, but I do like this car, and it the price does fit the budget a little better too. Any thoughts on this car specifically, or thoughts on 01s vs later models would be very welcome.

Whenever I do finally make the jump, it will be my first Vette, so I've been trying hard to make sure I get the right one, and this forum has been very helpful so far.

Looks to be very original, don't see any signs of mods other than the mention of a backup camera? Don't see any type of view screen so not sure about that one. Not that much difference between 01's & 02-04's, mainly just the cam and 20 hp less. They can often be had for a few thousand less than 02-04's. Looks like a nice clean, low mile one owner car for a pretty good price. You could probably get them to knock $1k or so off it without much trouble, especially if they have been sitting on it long.

It is priced right, looks good, and reasonably low mileage.
As long as it checks out (clean carfax, no codes, and passes a thorough walk around inspection and/or has a limited warranty). looks like a good buy.

Well the price is definitely right. And the first two mods I see that need to be done are removing the BSM and getting rid of that "whip" antenna....

They do list an autocheck report on their website for this car, which states it is actually a "calculated 3 owner" car:

I may give them a call tomorrow and get some more details.
