Trying to install fast fuel rails on my 01 z06
I just got a good deal on some fast fuel rails. It's just the rails. I'm needing to know what all will I need to install them. This is the first time I've messed with a fuel system besides replacing a pump or injectors. If you can post pictures of similar setups that would help. Thanks in advance

if you are using the stock feed line you will need an adapter fitting that snaps onto the feed line at the firewall and converts to -an, then you will need a -an fitting to go on the end of that and you can make a line to feed the passenger rail from the back, cross them over at the front, and plug the driver side rear rail or you can tee the feed line and feed both rails from the front and plug both rails at the rear... and obviously you will need all the necessary orb and -an fittings for whatever hose size you want to use... the rails are -8an internally and you can get orb fittings in -6an, -8an, or -10an on the other end depending on how you want to do it... there's lots of ways that work so you need to figure out how you want to do it first because you don't want to waste money buying line and fittings you don't need, that stuff isn't cheap and adds up quick

Thank you for your reply. Is there an advantage with the bigger fittings and hose or is it just a preference thing? So I don't need a regulator or anything special?

the only reason you need to go with bigger line is if you need the fuel supply... usually -6 or -8 is fine, what mods do you have or plan on doing?... you don't need a regulator unless you go through the whole fuel system and build your own setup, the factory regulator is at the back of the car in the fuel filter

36 lb injectors, ported 92 fast, 90mm tb, heads, cam, lts, and exhaust. That's what I have engine wise right now that could effect the fuel system.

-6 or -8 would be fine... if you already have the -8 orb fittings that come with the rails you might as well go ahead and do it in -8

Nevermind. I checked thread sizes on a chart and ithink they are the -8. The big side has 3/4 thread and the small is 1/2. It's that correct for-8?

they probably are -8 to -6... if I remember correctly when I bought mine they included (2) -8/-8 and (2) -8/-6 orb fittings but if you bought yours used who knows if they have been switched out... -8 is 3/8" inner diameter and that will be the side with the oring that screws into the rail... if you only have the -8/-6 orb fittings you can use a -6 line if you want to, it's about the same inner diameter as the factory feed line and that is easily capable of delivering enough fuel for a heads/cam car
