So I took my car to the track
Been a LONG time since I drag raced a stick shift car, I made 4 passes total I think at Gulfport Dragway In south Mississippi. It was HOT and very humid (75%).Da was about 2,000 feet.
I ran on Michelin PSS
Best pass
60ft 1.88
1/8 mile 8.15
1/4 mile 12.54 @113
Mods are Headers, catless X pipe, stock over the axle, Vararam and a tune.
Car makes about 385-390 rwhp on a dynojet(std).
I was granny shifting to stop the wheel hop into 2nd...a loooong shift.
It was Ok, I'm a road race guy...drag racing..blah.

Not bad for being rusty. I know that if I took my Z06 to the track I'd be happy to get anything under a 12.5. A lot of people read the numbers on paper and see "low 12's" all day, but the magazines usually pulling those numbers are with professional drivers and with decently prepped tracks and good weather. Lot of factors in it.

Humidity was really bad, you could see the moisture in the air around the lights at the track. Track was decent though to pull a 1.88 60 foot in Michelin Pilot Super Sports, would wheel hop like crazy if I got after the 1-2 shift at all.
When it cools off I may explore to see if it can.

In low 50 degree air and on a drag radial with a proper cool down it would run some real low 12's and maybe 11's on a perfect pass if I powershifted it.

I know ALLLLLLLLLLLLL about that humidity. I'm in south Louisiana. It's like 99% humidity all the time. You're down the coast, likely get it as bad as we do. People don't understand it until they come down here and sweat their *** off walking 20 feet from a building to your car and being encased in sweat so quickly.

High heat and humidity will KILL the power on these cars, I never ran in weather like that, it's a lot more abuse on the motor then cool weather IMO. Plus you're never going to see good numbers on a day like that. Cool fall weather is the best time to run the 1/4, I've always gotten my best times in Oct/Nov around here. Car runs waaaay stronger in that nice cool weather.

Good
I'd have to say that's pretty on par with your mods, tune, elevation, temps and tires.
I ran similar times at Fontana similar weather. 12.5 @ 114. 2.17 60 ft, 8.3 1/8th.
Hit an 8.1 @ 92 mph at Qualcomm in San Diego.
Car dynoed 366 hp 373 tq on a mustang dyno just before those runs. Don't have headers, but I have LS7 manifolds, exhaust WITH cats, 36 lb injectors and my own tune.

Try running again during cruising the coast. Track will be open and weather should be a lot better. I'm only an hour north of you in Hattiesburg and have spent a lot of time at Gulfport Dragway. And I'm sick and tired of this hot humid crap.

My first time at the track with my 03z with 555r and zip tie. Humidity was 80% and temps were low 90s back in may here in san antonio. 3 passes best was 12.9 at 111 1.98 60ft worst was 13.2 at 113 2.22 60ft. I was so pissed was my first time down track in a vette.

Density altitude is a big factor at the track.. Hot and humid conditions as well as a high altitude make it hard at the drag strip.. It also takes practice practice practice at the track, unless you are out there every weekend... It took me 8 passes to run an 11.82, after running 12.1-12.4 times on my modded Z.. I've been going to the track for over 20 years.. I consider myself good, its all about track time behind the wheel and getting a perfect launch and perfect shifts . Practice practice on your 60 foot time! and pick a day with temps in the low 70s with low humidity

Don't think he gives a shjt about the perfect time. I've contemplated hitting the 1/4 mile in my turd Camaro, but I feel like the numbers would be all too predictable. I'd prefer to hit a hot autocross, but that ship's sailed for the year and I wasn't home to do it. Trying to win over souls to the NASA side.

I haven't bothered dragging my C5Z b/c I don't want to wreck the clutch or half shafts etc. And know I would end up causing damage in an attempt to get that best time. It would also annoy me if I ran something like that (my car is same - Intake/headers 384whp mustang dyno) & years ago my 4000 lb G8 GT was running 12.7-12.8 @ 109-110 over and over and over again w/ similar bolt ons & street tires - automatic car w/ perfect 50-50 weight distribution is a better drag racing platform than an M6 nose heavy torque heavy C5Z
