Default What is this sensor on the tranny? (Pic)

Found a leak coming from one of the sensors on the tranny. Can anyone tell me which part this is so I can replace the sensor or the gasket? The car is a 02 z06. Thank you!

Looks a bit like a knock sensor. Which side of motor is it on. (Pass or driver) I'll take a look on all data and see if I can find the schimatic.

Also. It may just be loose. Chances are it dosent take a gasket. I would pull the sensor first and clean it and the hole it goes into real well. Then use some Teflon tape around the sensor threads and put it back in nice and snug. I'd start there. If the sensor is not malfunctioning then there is no reason to change it. Try that first before buying a replacment.

Tough to tell by pic but looks like the skip shift solenoid on side of tranny.

It's on the driver side. The sensor is toward the top of the tranny near the tub area.

Good heads up on teflon tape and putting it back on. I will try that.

Ok, that's the skip shift solenoid. It could also be leaking from the reverse lockout solenoid cover directly above

Thanks! That's the thing where it makes u shift from 1st to 4th right?

The car already has the CAGS mod done. I still see the shift light come on when I roll in first gear. Should I remove the sensor and plug it? I don't see the point of buying a replacement sensor when I don't need it, right?

Yes that's it. I guess you could plug it if you want. Before I went through the trouble I would check to see if it's loose and also make sure it's not leaking for the cover about it.
