I am in the process of purchasing another Vette. Spent countless hours studying and researching between a C5Z and a C6Z. At the end I am going to purchase an all original low mileage C5Z. I was very disappointed with the LS7 reliability. I would have loved to have the extra HP and TQ but rather have the reliability of the LS6. I absolutely love the C5Z design also.

I do have a 01 coupe that I absolutely love it!

I've owned 4 C5's...1 FRC, and 3 Z06's. I modified 2 of them ( superchargers, headers, cam, etc. ) I have a 2013 ZR1, currently, and love it, but in my opinion, it doesn't come close to matching the beauty of my '99 pewter FRC, or my white Z06. I'm always searching for a low mileage FRC. The style just appeals to me more than any other Corvette.

Everytime I tell someone I like my C5Z better than all other vettes they say yeah right maybe you can't afford one. So I say ok and go home and park it between my $75k super duty pick up and my wifes MB

I currently own both a C6Z and a C7Z. My first Vette was an EB C5Z with BSM and chrome wheels. It is my favorite of all time, and I regret ever selling it. Such a beautiful car. Don't tell the guys in the C6Z and C7Z forums that I said this.

You guys are just warped. All real sports cars are convertibles.

Electron Blue was the best C5Z color in my opinion. Especially with the MR interior! I found a crazy deal on a MY C5Z and pounced. I have not driven a C6Z or C7Z but I cannot pass up the looks of the C5Z. I think it is the flip up headlights as my dad raised me on the C2 and C3's.

Easily the best color...but I am biased. Man I really miss her. Dory.

There is enough people that wish we as Corvette people would go away and take the Corvette with us ,we need as Corvette owners need to stick together . I don't like the look of the C-7s myself but Corvette just the same need to save some of the what is that for when the V-6s Corvette come out ,got to draw the line somewhere.. Just saying

I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and modifying mine for the past 13 years.

I recently winter-prepped a C7 Z51 coupe for a lady whose husband passed away three years ago. After changing the oil, washing it, adding Sta-Bil to the gas tank, and filing it with gas, I took it for a short ride. The first thing I noticed was how much smaller it is in the interior than my C5. I am 6'3" tall and I could not get enough leg room and head room to be comfortable. And, there is no rear visibility.

Sorry C7 owners, but it is a loser!

That is quite possibly the most gorgeous black Z I have ever seen. Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!

I stay away from dusty roads.

The hood is an immense help in venting the high pressure air and heat that builds up under a C5 hood. In addition, the stock hood weighed 42 lbs. and this hood weighs 16 lbs.

Sure a C7 lowered with some wheels will be very striking, and id trade one for my Z in a heart beat, but that's not really the question

I found myself parked behind a c6Z last week, I snapped a few shots

My friend and I both agreed that while the c6Z was nice, it wasn't really that visually appealing

The C6 in general looks a bit choppy, the issue with the C6's is they essentially took a C5 and chopped off part of the rear and chopped off part of the front, leaving it looking a little stumpy, like something is missing

Even for the price difference alone, im happy with my C5Z
The angle of the pic on those silver Z's make em look like they have a giant case of kardashian booty. Not appealing to me. But it's just the pic angle cuz my 04 doesn't have that big of a butt.

That hood is so cool looking. Its the first body mod I've seen I just have to do. Would you share the info on it?

I currently own a 94 C4 vert, 02 C5 Z06 and a 09 C6 Z06. I love all three of these and imho they are all gorgeous in their own way. If I had to pick one I don't know which one I'd pick. I can't say enough about the C5Z. It is just such an awesome and fun car in every way. My C6Z which I love was twice the price of my C5Z but it's not twice the car. C5Z is so hard to beat even money being no object. I also loved my C4 ZR-1 when I had it. Great car. Early 80s and mid sixties are gorgeous cars to me to. C7: ugliest vette yet just my opinion

I purchased my hood from Black Dog Speed Shop - http://www.blackdogspeedshop.com/ind...prod/prd14.htm
They are in a Chicago area suburb.

It is all carbon-fiber and Kevlar. I had my painter finish it so that only the center section shows the carbon-fiber. As I posted earlier, it weighs just 16 lbs.

So I traded my modded C6 Z06 and went back to a C5 Z06 because of the inherent LS7 problems. Even after I'd fixed the heads I was lucky to get back most of my money on the car. The 100 h.p. extra was not that important to me....We just got 8 inches of snow here yesterday, but I made sure to pull the cover and gaze at my "now coined" McDonalds '04 Z06 with much pleasure.....and don't get me going on the C7 looks.....

LOL,
Mark
