Default why am I surprised?

So I bought my 2003 Z06 about a month ago with the following mods. - stainless works 1 7/8 headers
- stainless works 3" catted x-pipe
- Corsa touring/ pacecar exhaust
- 160* stat
- varram with power duct
- lingenfelter/ ZR1 fuel pump
- ngk tr-55 plugs
- full Speed Inc dyno and street tune.

I got the dyno sheet with the car and it made 401hp and 388tq on Speed Inc's dyno. does this surprise anyone else? the numbers seem high for being a stock cam/ heads car. I'm not upset though lol. The car pulls so hard. Did I just get lucky and buy a strong running Z?

I was just really happy with the number I guess.... Bro.

I didn't install the pump so I'm not sure the thought behind that. gets about avg mileage. I got 25 mpg coming home with the car.

I wouldn't be surprised...I just picked up an '01 Z06 (the year rated at 385hp) and it made 349 bone stock on a Dynojet.

Finishing up longtubes, o/r x-pipe, Halltech, Gen1 FAST 78mm & ported stock TB install this evening and getting it on the dyno again for a tune in the next few days...hoping to make as close to 400 as possible.

i believe its 380hp stock to the wheels, a tune with headers should land up to 30hp to the wheels.

That doesn't sound right. Assuming a ~12% drivetrain loss, you would be 355-360 hp at the wheels. 380 is very optimistic for a stock car, IMHO.

Ive heard of 02-04's with LT's, VR & tune putting down 390-400 at the wheels before. Im guessing the larger headers helped your numbers. Nice!

Just drive and enjoy. My car made 376rwhp on the same dyno that my friends car made 386. Both of our cars drive the same

340 to 350 stock. with headers and tune... 380 is about right. 400+... seems a bit high... or maybe there is more work then you think...

must be a generous dyno. dyno's are just tuning guides. I had my car dynoed on two different dynos and of course got two different numbers. 450 on mustang, 471 on dynojet. It just depends. Go down the track and only look at mph... that will tell you what it really has.

400 RWHP is 100% attainable for an 02-04 LS6 at sea level assuming all other variables are in order (compression test, fuel system delivery and healthy internals). I have had my car and my buddies car both hit that number with LT's, intake and dyno tune.

Congrats on the purchase. I'm no tuning expert but that doesn't sound crazy. With lt's, xpipe, vararam, and tr55 plugs mine made 392rwhp. Where you have 1 7/8 lt's and 3" pipe thats def possible I would think. What brand dyno?

So what can these cars make with a pretty big off the shelf cam and heavily ported 243's? Is the stock ls6 intake and throttle body a big bottle neck? I would like to make close to 500whp
