C5z with 255/40/17 and 285/35/18 on stock Wheels
I have been doing a lot of research and need to get new A/S tires where I can drive when colder and do not want to slip and slide on the NT05s. Would this combination work (255/40/17 and 285/35/18) and will it mess with the traction control? I believe it is only .01 difference in height from the OEM set up.
thanks for your thoughts and knowledge!

Is this something dealers would know about, the traction control and tire size. I hate talking to dealers! they will want me to buy from them for 2x cost and blame something on me.

Will work just fine. I ran these sizes in with Hankook RS3v2 tires. What tires are you considering?

thanks for the reply. So far, I have seen PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ as the one to use from tire rack, etc. Though there are not many that have had then to 10000 miles or so.
Love the Nittos, but cant work at this them range. I get a lot of slippage.

I ran those sizes with the older Pilot Sport A/S 3s. No problems with traction control. I got about 25k miles out of them. Daily driver, 140k, 80 mile RT daily commute on toll roads at 85mph. The only problem I had with the A/S 3s was that when they were down to 4/32, they got scary in the rain. The PS 2s I had before were better in the rain when down to 4/32. I think it was because of the very wide grooves on the PS 2s compared with the A/S 3s.

Suggestion, have a look at Conti DWS's. Good milage (on our S4 Audi) 35k on them and still over half depth on tread.
