2002 Z06 Oil Consumption
I know this one has been beaten to death, but I'm a little too lazy to go through all the historical threads. So the basic question is:
Should a Z06 with February 2002 build date be prone to excessive oil consumption under a normal mix of driving, due to any factory PCV or ring issue?
I'm looking at a car with under 10,000 miles, hence the question.
Thanks,
Charlie

you can still use a little oil in an 02 but it's all down the pcv which is undersized for operating the engine hard. in the summer when you spin it up a couple times a day you will use 1/4 to 1/2 quart every 1500-2000 miles
if you go racing you will use considerably more but lap days have you in a high rpm environment much longer
feb 02 is however prime for the crap valve springs and those should be replaced ASAP. low mileage or not, the metal had impurities in some of the springs. new GM replacement springs are only $65-70 for a set
