Default '01 vs '02 brake pads

Do I have this correct?

The stock '01 uses the same brake pads as all other C5's; only for '02 and '03 the front pads are different?

According to dealer, the brake pad P/N 88952008 is for '02 and '03 only.

Did the pad change from '01 to '02, and why shouldn't dealers be using the new pad when replacing if it has better characteristics?

thanks,
-ag

Default Re: '01 vs '02 brake pads (antigrav)

Front pad numbers changed for the first of the 02 model year.Stop better in hard usage but dust about twice as much as 01 pads(and squeal alittle more)02 rear pads where changed about mid-April of this year but still are not avaiable thru normal parts channels((they dust/work better)In normal everyday real world driving there is no difference--just in hard usage do they Really make a difference
