My Z came with a Twin Flow air intake that prior owner installed. From what I have heard on this forum it may not be any better than the factory air box. I have heard that the Callaway Honker is one of the best options for a California car. Why does the '02-'04 Z not get a Carb # but a coupe or vert from the same years the Carb # applies to them? Save the wave.

Simple: they're different engines, and Callaway apparently only applied for a CARB cert on the LS1 from those years - not the LS6.

Ahhh, CA CARB fun. While I'm guessing, I would venture that Callaway didn't want to write another exorbitantly expensive blackmail check from the state to allow it to sell its products with the little sticker on it. At some point, you make more money by NOT doing business in CA.

Paper can prove itself costly. I've been in manufacturing pretty much all my adult life. At times, it's best to push some business away rather than deal with the extra cost associated.
