Default Offroad to cats ??? LG Pro Longtubes

I'm currently running a set of LG Pro Longtubes (been on my car since 2005) with the offroad x-pipe. I'm wanting to add cats to the car simply to make it not smell as much....... I personally don't mind the smell but I would like to drive the car for work more and I can't be meeting with clients smelling like exhaust. I see that LG does sell a cat specific for the pro headers but I'm wondering where exactly they will fit into the exhaust system? Do the cats simply replace the offroad x-pipe? Any insight would be much appreciated!!!

Is it a catted mid section or just cats? If mid section then it may replace the existing. Do you have a part number or pic we can see?
Personally I'd just buy some MagnaFlow cats and have a good exhaust shop install them.

LG's site doesn't list (nor show pics) if its a mid section replacement or not? I plan to contact them but I just figured I'd post up here in case anyone had first hand knowledge.

From what I can find (Google found me a Super Chevy article that tried both options with pics), the system you have has a removable section that can be removed and cats installed.
I'll leave further replies to those who have first hand experience.

They go right after the header there is a section of the exhaust that comes out and the cats are made to fit the same as the pipe removed

That section is the x-pipe on my setup, short section after the actual headers that is clamped to the pipes going to the axle back section.

It should replace the existing midpipe and you should have no issues. +1 on the idea of purchasing high flow Magnaflow cats and having them welded in. It would save you a lot of money.

Same thing I did years ago. Lou sent me all the clamps, and extension pipes to install the HF cats with no welding. Great customer service. BTW, it did reduce the smell a bit, and made the exhaust a little quieter, but the smell is caused by overlap, and if you have a cam with over 6 deg. positive overlap, it's going to still smell. When I added a supercharger, I also changed cams, and in doing so, went from +8 deg. to -2, and the smell is almost eliminated.
