[Z06] Toyo, Nitto or Continental Tires?

There's just too much rubber missing on the contract patch for me with these tires. Since I don't ever drive mine in the rain I want as much rubber touching the pavement as possible.

Good opportunity to post a picture of two people in a red vette and that's about it.

Can you give us another review? Wpupd love an update on them. Thanks

I've got about 300 miles on em now and have no complaints. The first thing I noticed was how good the dry traction is. It's even better than the old DW's which were already had great dry traction. The one thing everybody wants to know is how are the sidewalls. We'll, I can say for sure they are much better, maybe a 40% improvement and they respond to steering input very well, no more squishy feeling. I can't say how much better the Sports are in wet traction as I don't drive my Z in the rain, but with the wide water evacuation channels I'm sure they'd do just fine. The road noise seems lower than the DW's which were already pretty good. I have driven cars with the Michelin PS and PSS and IMHO the new Conti Sports are just as good and cost much less so it's safe to say Continental has met it's goal of competing directly with Michelin's tires, however Michelin is also coming out with a new tire to replace the PS/PSS so I'm curious how those tires will be. My only complaint with Michelin's tires is price. It would be nice if they could lower the price to match other tires in the same category, but they've done well since their tires are pretty high quality and have a great reputation. I'll post another review once I get about 1000 miles on them.

Spoke to someone at tire rack today, he was pushing Bridgestone Potenzas but I am inclined to go with the continentals based on the reviews here (stock wheels for me). No issues with the sizes people are running in this thread and rubbing/active handling?

the new conti sport looks promising, not the DW but the sport
the toyo t1s is the other one you should demo if you could. it's a really solid tire

Well, I just ordered the Continental sports....hopefully they live up to my expectations! Thanks for the advice from everyone.

Keep hearing good things about the T1's, and sounds like they have recently re-entered production in our OE sizes. I'm not seeing those sizes on tirerack tho, anyone know where else to look?

i really liked this tire back in the day when they were 1st in production. glad to see them remake it. it wasn't a super duper sticky tire but it really didn't do anything wrong. held up to hard driving. responsive, predictable.
new conti sport also looks promising. at least now you guys have a couple good choices . a few years ago it was just the nt05 and re760 {blah} the ps2 stopped becoming a good choice when the rear shifted to that porsche specific compound not to mention they are aged. the supercar is just terrible from a value perspective. if you could replace them yearly it would be one thing but that tire loses a LOT of grip after as little as 18 months

I needed to get some curb rash repaired on my front wheels and they said they would mount/balance for free my new tires. So I bought a pair of Nitto NT555 G2 tires for $312 delivered from Walmart.com. They are 275/40/17 and completely fill the rim as they were meant to be. A 265 just isn't wide enough for a 9.5" wide rim, barely even a 9" rim.

275/40 does look better on the stock 9.5" rim. The rim and tire are just about even in width like the 295/35 on the rear. The 265/40 looks a bit small and a 255/40 looks stretched on there. If someone made a 275/35 for the front, that would be perfect IMO since it would have a profile similar to the rear.
