C5Z tire options today, here are the options I see
What would you guys choose, here is the compilation of a couple of evenings finding all the options for C5 Z06 tires.. My car is an 18000 mile 04 Commemorative with it's original tires and I need to get them off of it soon. For what it is worth, I am a cruiser and not a drag or track guy.
looking at this picture of my chart of costs, consider the option to go cheaper on tires and also buy a set of chrome copy z06 wheels to run and keep my pristine wheels and original tires although old, aside for resale value. Then if I sell the car I got my more recently acquired wheels and tires left to use elsewhere or resell. Otherwise I mould buy the Michelins or F1 SC tires. From a cost standpoint it is not much of a reach. Big dollar tires or cheaper tires and wheels ???
Edit: changed out the chart to include Nt555R Nitto's and Toyo Proxes's, What is the consequence of driving the nt555 front and the 555R on the rear for all street and traveling use., thinking it is not my cup of tea tire for traveling type use but ??

I would do the RE760s or 255/295 Continental DW given your goals/usage.

If you don't race it or put that many mile stuff on it, you might want to go to eBay and plug in your sizes and see what comes up. Lots of choices that are less expensive then what you are showing.

I do have a preference if deviating from stock sizes to go a size wider to protect wheels from accidental rash rather than narrower and make them more vulnerable.

On my last one I had Nitto NT05's in back and NT555's up front.....rears where 295, fronts 275. Better to just up your wheel size to either 18's all around or go 18/19. My new Z06 has that and it opens up so many more tire options....

I considered the nitto 270 305 option but kind of decided against the 6/32's tread racey tires for daily street, should I reconsider. The nt05 for this car is out as I want a more treaded stocker appearing tire. Maybe if I put them on a new set of copy wheels !!

Typically going wider in the front will have it following every crack in the road, though I run 275/40/17 when tracking. Run 265 toyo r1 sports on front currently. A little less prone to wandering on the street.
And it seems it's Japanese, Chinese or German anymore to put rubber on these.

I'm a toyo fan. Used the 265 R1 sports and some Toyo drag radials in 305 to meet the requirements for the Mohave Magnum mile, and they ain't bad on the street as well. They're approved up to 205mph. And as you posted, the price is right.

I think the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s are so good that they are worth the extra
money. I have them in 315s on the rear.

I'll second the Conti DW 255s front 295s rear. They are better then most here will give them credit in handling, their ride is far better then most, quiet (until the last 3rd of life. I'v had the 275s on the front, they didn't add to the handling as traction/balance and made turn-in a bit slow. The taller sidewall (profile) looked a little off in the overall visual balance of the car.

I'm basically looking at the same options and I've decided to go with the Toyo Proxes T1 Sports in stock sizes. I've had the Conti DW'S before on another car and while they are a great tire my biggest complaint was the soft sidewall which creates a slower/sluggish feeling on turn in. You can overcome this with higher pressure, but that creates a harsher ride. I almost went with the new Conti Sports, but after reading some of the initial reviews some people are saying they also have a soft sidewall so I'm gonna try the Toyo's.

Not sure if you are all aware but Comtinential DW was just replaced this month with Extreme Contact Sport.
These replacements are suppose to be much improved. 40% stiffer sidewalls too....the main complaint.

Conti fan here as well. I've had them on several cars now and planning to put them on the front of this one. Not sure if they make one that would fit there rear of my car.

I have NT05's on my '95 M3 DD, and they work great in any weather except Snow, we got a lot of snow a couple weeks ago and I couldn't climb our Hill when I got out of the driveway. My new Z has Bridgestone Potezas all around (18/19) and I picked it up in SoCal and drove to WA, went through pouring rain and in the last mountains in CA drove through a killer snow storm, but had no issues driving through the passes and was passing most everyone else. Next day driving home it was nice and clear the final 470 miles....Ha Ha

dumped conti dw after week, didn't like iffy sidewalls, went to michelin super sports and lov them, 275/285 both 18" were out of 295 so went with 285 which will replace next year with correct size. I use car as trip/road car and weekend with corvette buddies get-togethers.

This is exactly where i am ending up, thinking 18/18 either way but deciding on c5 z06 or c6 zo6 style, either way I can get 18x9.5 fronts and 18x10.5 rears with the 56mm offset. Planning on the Mich super sports as well. 265 35 18 front and 295 35 18 rears work out great and and fit like stock, only giving up .4" of sidewall on front and that is slightly concerning. I could pick up the fronts to 275's to get it back but hear they worm track worse so likely go 265's. Kind crazy but I bet I worked on this 20 hours to come up with the many options and matched tire combinations by varying the size up and down slightly.
Although I'm still on the fence on front tire size.
I would like to go 265/35/18 but not sure if it might look a bit stretched on a 10.5 inch wide rim.
I'm thinking that the 275/35/18 might look better but will worm track more.
Probably going with either the new Conti or Michelin replacements that are coming out soon.
I'll make that choice once more tests and reviews start appearing.
If anyone has a photo to share on a 265/35/18 mounted on a stock Speedline rear Z06 18 X 10.5 rim, that would be great.
