Check out this kids video and see how he lifts his Z. It is interesting, I just don't know if where he places the jack is structurally strong enough? I realize the Hydroform frame is there but I still s it.

That kid is a moron for jacking it up in the middle of the body, it's not a pickup truck lol. Yes it does have frame rails on both sides but gm specified 4 specific jacking locations on the frame rails for a reason. I don't even use those. I have only ever jacked mine by the engine cradle and the rear diff cradle using a 2x6 and a floor jack. When lifted I support the car by the front and rear cradle. Lifting in the middle of the door like that could screw up the whole door opening structure I would imagine. It's videos like this that made me find a one owner car, owned by an older guy. You never know what some clowns like this kid have done to the car...sheesh

Myself and hundreds of others at the track have jacked C5s and C6s like shown in the video for years with no ill effects. Just don't let it slip on the jack or you will have major problems.

Looks and sounds like a bright young man. I would bet that he has a set of these, which make lifting the car in the center very doable without risk of damage. Just because you haven't done something or seen it done, doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be done. I wonder how many of the name callers can post a quality video like this one? Very doubtful any have the technical savvy.

I have lifted C5 corvettes countless times as the the young man did, no issues, and I'll add that my cars all run road coarse HPDE and get pushed hard.
The real morons are those uneducated people who criticize without knowledge.
And I've welded several of those, right on the car, it's easy and cheap.

Cross members or puck locations.
Jack stands are the same thing. Normally always the cradle but since it's in the air with the transmission out the rear jack stands are at the puck locations.
