Default Best mod????

Ok so I have $2500 I can spend on the next mod for my 2001 z06. It has 9,800 orig. miles and so far it has kooks longtubes, k/n cai, granatelli mass air. I was thinking of going with a cam kit next. Whats your thoughts etc???

Yep! With the current headers and CAI, going to be your best bang for the buck. 2500.00 is about right for the Cam, Springs, push rods, install, and dyno tune.

Depending upon the Cam grind and with good street manners, you should be between 420-435 RWHP on a Dynojet.

If you want it specifically for the motor, then cam, heads work, tune... if you do the install you'll get more bang for your buck.
If the $2500 were mine to spend (and I basically have the same existing mods), I'd highly consider 18/19 or 19/19 wheels and matching tires.

I have def been kicking around in my head 18/19" wheels and tires but i can't find anything "good" in this price range.... Been super frustrated looking at tons of wheels combos. What ideas do you have?

Sorry... I'd go nice set of used. New would be a tough find.

Did you have the LT, CAI done or was it on the car when purchased? If you installed them what kind of power did you gain either dyno or SOTP feel?

I hear that 01's respond to LT headers moreso then 02-04 because the pre pups and more restrictive cats.

would love to hear feedback

My buddy also has an 01' z06 and his is completly stock. Mine feels CONSIDERABLY more awake than his. he actually offered me 23k for my car (it only has 9,800 miles) but i declined

Get rid of that granatelli mass air and go back to a stock one. Time and time again people have gotten lean fuel trims even with a tune using that mass air. Do a search, pretty common issue. I had a granatelli mass air and went back to stock and the car ran MUCH better.

nos NOS said that MAF is JUNK!!! go back to stock. not sure what kinda driving you do, but if you like to turn put aftermarket seats on your short list. i waited 4 years to put seats in my car and i wish it was the second mod after a aftermarket shifter. you plan on installing the cam yourself?
