Default Transmission MN6 vs M12

I have been talking to several tuners to do my next mod, (SC going for 550 RWHP). They all seem to say the best way to set up my 2003 ZO6 is to switch out the M12 tranny for a MN6 tranny and go with either the 3.90 or 4.10's.

They say the M12 has too steep of 1st & 2nd gears and a huge gap to third and fourth. With that much power they say 1st & 2nd gears would almost be useless. Whereas the MN6 has a very good gear ratio especially with the rear end change.

Does the MN6 tranny hold up to that much HP? Good choice?

Any and all opinions welcomed.

If you decide to switch, I'll trade ya. My understanding is the internals are the same strength with different ratios.
