Default Had LS1 dyno tune this A.M. by East coast supercharging & went to the track.....

It was my second time to a track w/ my 03 ZO6. This time was at Atco in NJ. Long story short the car totally outperformed!! My best pass was as follows:
60'-1.711
1/8-7.51
1/8 mph-94.18
1/4-11.67@119.30.

It was 53 degrees out w/ some humidity. The car has a Vararam, 180 tstat (which did nothing for temps), and the LS1 edit tuning done today. I ran on the Goodyear F-1 sc's at 26 psi. The track and the Goodyears were hooking awesome. I was going to be happy w/ a 12.4, since I ran a 13.0@111 in August- 94 degrees w/ 97% humidity (before Vararam & tuning) w/ a 2.1 60' @ Englishtown,NJ.
My car has nothing else at all done, and I swear to that and the times!! I think slicks would shave another .2 at least. I am exstatic w/ the way the car performed today. I made 14 total passes. They started in the 12.2 range. I played with the launch RPM's and quickly got into the 11.8's, until I ripped off the 11.67. It is possible to get these baby's to go low!! One interesting point, the car always made it's quickest pass in the 3rd & 4th pass before coolling it down. My thanks to Chris @ East Coast Supercharging!!!
So what do you guys think?? Thanks! :seeya

 That's amazing for an intake and some tuning. Where you powershifting? What was your launch RPM? Must have been a great track and fantastic air

That has to be the quickest & fastest time I have ever seen from a Z06 on street tires with just an airbox mod. 1.7 60' foot is nothing less than incredible on stock tires (pretty much unrealistic). I think you just matched or beat all the ET and MPH records set by J-Rod, Ranger, & Powershifter and those guys do full burnouts on drag radials. J-Rod launches at 6500 RPM as well.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but these times would not have happened at ETown. The gods were smiling on you and the planets must have been in the proper alignment. Outstanding times. I gotta try Atco.

I was able to launch @ 4500rpm, slightly riding the clutch out until she sat on the rear, then came off the clutch & fairly quickly floored the gas. The tires didn't even chirp!! I don't powershift 1-2 (too much tire spin), but do powershift 2-3 & 3-4 shifts.
RBartick- I have a feeling you're probably right about Etown!!
I'll have to go there again soon! Thanks guys!!! :seeya

My reply:

Ummmmm  Wow. Very impressive times and mph.

Did you do a before and after dyno?

Do you have a temp/humidity/baro ,or DA from the track at that time?

All in all, very impressive.

I was able to launch @ 4500rpm, slightly riding the clutch out until she sat on the rear, then dump the clutch & mash the gas. The tires didn't even chirp!!
Wow, they must have had glue on the starting line. I've never experienced that. At ETown I get massive wheelspin if I try that from as low as 1500 RPM. I have to slowly roll into the gas, mashing just gets uncontrollable wheelspin and a 2.38 60' time.

Let me know when you are heading back to Atco. I may meet up with you.

Thanks JROD. A good compliment coming from you. I've seen what you have done. I didn't get the weather, and I don't know what DA is any way. The temps were at 53-54 all day w/ very overcast skies, a little humid. SORRY!
I didn't have much time, since I got tuned & went straight to the track (we had it rented-12 cars total), so no before dyno.Chris @ East coast guessed around 349 or so (lower due to Vararam throwing off all of the trims).
Rbartic, it was a controlled mash, not really a full push the gas thru the floor board. Yes the track was incredibly sticky! As the car rolled up to stage you could hear the tires gripping like when you have slicks on.

I suck as a driver, but the best I did was 1.875 on ET streets and 2.22 on the F1's. AMAZING

Great times, Atco is one of the best hooking tracks I've ever run on. If you ran 13.0 in August (I calculated the DA to be 2950'), you got 3 tenths just from the weather change. That's 12.7, minus 2 tenths for the vararam, which puts you at 12.5 and you got 4 tenths better in your 60'. Every .1 in your 60' equates to roughly .15 in total 1/4 ET, which knocks another .6 off your time, to 11.9. The altitude at E-Town in about 400', and the altitude at Atco is about -100 so knock off another half a tenth there. Without the dyno tune and just the VaraRam you should have been good for 11.80 - 11.85, so you picked up in actuality about .15 from the dyno tune, which is quite a bit for a Z06. Hopefully you can make it to e-town for the next challenge so you can see how much improvement you get at the same track

Density altitude. This variable has a big effect on your performance. Most of the time at ETown during the Corvette Challenges the DA is somewhere in the 1500-3000 ft range.

What affects it/ makes it up?? Is it air density vs. altitude?? Is a higher or lower DA better for racing? Thanks!

Density altitude is basically a calculated figure using the barometric pressure, humidity and temperature. It is used to relate the current weather conditions with a "standard atmosphere".

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/wdenalt.htm http://wahiduddin.net/calc/calc_da.htm http://www.csgnetwork.com/densaltcalc.html

A lower DA means thicker air and it is better for engine power. DA is actually very important for airplane pilots.
