and there are people that think their new air intake or tb or corsa exhaust give them that much and more, let's see sae dyno numbers in a controlled test, ie, change only 1 thing at a time and retest...
gm had to do a lot of stuff to the heads on the 2001 z06 to boost the hp from 385 to 405, do you think they have not wrung out every last gain from the stock later z06's at 405 hp?

Painrace: have you driven your car to 182 or is that a calculation? Curious because there are lots of other threads about what the top speed is/could be. If you have done this (driven at 182) then you have answered their questions.

I have driven the car several times to 182-183 range. It will get there with the extra RPMs. The motor wont pull to 7,100 it just can't make it past 6,900 plus a little. My car was not very good past 155 MPH and I had it aligned with a GM Master Tech and he rode with me on one 180+ round. The car was very steady after the alignment.
I forgot. I am a retired racer. It would take me a long time to calculate top speed. It is more fun and much more exact to just do it. I assume speedometer is close???

I've cross checked my speedo (standard tires) against a GPS and it was spot on (less than 1kmph = 0.5mph error).
Well then I guess you answered the posts about whether a Z06 could keep up with a ZR1 and wether it is just a matter of gearing and not HP.
