It was not standard until the 2002 build year!

Actually I don't think you could get the HUD as a Z06 option in 2001.

I've never seen a 2001 Z06 with a HUD, except for a couple aftermarket installations.

I dont think you could get HUD in 01 on the Z06.. it didn't have as many opitions as the 02 and up.

I bet that is a job to install a HUD?

Have to cut a hole in the dash, but the electronics are already there-- it just hooks up to the instrument panel. You can install an aftermarket HUD in 99 and later vettes.
It might not look as bright because there's a special coating on the window for factory HUD cars, but people who have done it say it works fine.

Thanks Thud.. never knew that one, i guess you could change the windshield out to a new 02 version to fix the coating problem too.

Nice for the 01 Z owners to know.
