I had the problem at about 3,500 miles. I had it on two of my other six C5's also.

I have a spot on my garage floor, but it's not oily and doesn't have an odor.
It looks and feels like moisture, but I don't know why it would sweat in the
same spot all the time. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks.

Dawn,
I have approximately 9k miles on my '02 Z06 and it consistently weeps diff fluid. The trans and diff have been out of it twice trying to stop the leak.

I have not had any problems with the differntial seal, oil consumption, or gas guage... so far, my Z06 has been a seriously high quality, issue-free vehicle, which, based on all input and experience, is extremely rare for GM.
Excuse me, I have to go knock on a lot of wood to stave off bad luck and contnue my good luck.

OK, I may be exposing my gross ignorance on this issue, but I read somewhere that under hard driving the trans fluid can heat up sufficiently to the point that it forces vapor and oil out the breather. Is the diff connected directly to the trans, i.e. does it share the same fluid? I'm presuming it does, and if so then could the leak actually just be fluid forced out under hard-driving?
Flame away, but I'm bored tonight and I thought I'd throw this one out to the forum for grins.

Hi Dawn Z -
2002 Z06 - 30K miles - purchased new.
Had it on he lift last night - no leaks or seepage as yet.
I do get some on the engine block where the head meets the front of the block on the passenger side - but it has been wiped twice since I have owned the car.
Differential leakage is not a problem for me but I have heard of the issue before.
best regards -

02 Z with 5000 miles...no leaks. Only problem was a cut CV boot from the factory install. It was replaced at the dealer during my PDI (pre delivery inspection).

03 Z repaired with 5438 miles on 07/29/03 and back this week AGAIN at 10540 on 05.06/04. If I have to put up with this every 5K miles I think I will look into the lemon law.
