Default Std axle vs. perf axle

I assume the 3:15 performance axle improves acceleration somewhat. Is there a performance benefit to the 2:73 standard axle?

Just traded in my 2.73 C6 for a 3.15 C6 there is a little difference but I havent had the new one at the track yet. The 2.73 car went a 12.70 @110 stock we will have to see what the Z51 will do in a few miles.

Just the manuals. The manual gets 3.42 regardless of which suspension you choose.

With the automatics, 2.73 is standard but the 3.15 is included with the Z51. If you get the standard suspension or the magnetic ride control F55 you can order the 3.15 for another $395.

Is the 3.42 rear the only gearing change for a manual with Z51 or are the individual ratios in the tranny different too?

yes the tranny is geared differently as well, however, check the stats and you'll see the same times -.1 in 0-60 and i believe it's -.2 in the quarter.

I owned both and noticed a huge difference in the 3.15 for acceleration and just "fun to drive" factor. Owned the 2.73 first so didn't know what I was missing. Couldn't go back.
Small difference in MPG. 28 vs 26 Highway and 21 vs 19.5 combined.
And as far a resale??? Noone will say to you, "Man nice car, just wish it didn't have the perf. rear end!"
