Default "Blue" DRL's Available

I just replaced my DRL's / Turn Signals with Sylvania SilverStar bulbs.

They are a blue/chrome look when turned off so the lens doesn't look amber in daylight. The bulb gives off an amber color when turned on so they are 100% street legal.

The part #'s to ask for are 3057AST or 3157/4157AST. The 3057 bulbs have a slightly lower candle power than the 3157/4157 bulbs. The turn signal brightness is the same with either bulb. I prefer the 3057 but either bulb number interchanges with the stock #5702KA bulb.

They are pictured on the Sylvania website here: http://www.costore.com/performancesh...=34&pid=298211

To search by zip code for the closest store that sells them: http://www.sylvania.com/WhereToBuy/

I paid $14.99 at Murrays Auto Store and there is a $5 rebate for a total cost of $9.99

Default Pics

Go to the link on the website which shows a picture of a typical lens with a bulb installed and an inset of how it turns amber when illuminated. I don't have any way to post pics at the moment.

.....
As the DRL's are on all the time when driving, the only time when the lights are off is when you're parked. You changed the bulbs for this? Did you do it for car shows?

Actually, I did it to respond to another thread where someone wanted to do it and couldn't find the correct bulb. It actually does look better when parked and I like the slightly dimmer Daylight Running Lights.

This is the other thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1004173

Besides, trying a $10 investment on a $50,000+ car shure wont break any of us!

This would have more appeal for those who habitually turn the nanny lights off.

Regardless of the comments, thanks for taking the time to research and post the part numbers...

73 Vetteman, I think that other post you refer to was with me. I just ordered my bulbs today from AutoBarn and wished I saw your earlier post...they are going to cost me ~$20 after rebate. Oh well.

Guys, it's not about driving and seeing the bulbs, it's about getting rid of that scrambled egg look under the DRLs when the car is off. The icy blue look is much sharper and "cooler" than the orange. When you drive the car, they look and act the same as stock. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Just a note, the stock DRLs are listed in the manual as a 5702KA...not a 5207. I think that was a typo. Post pics 73VetteMan when you can, or maybe someone can host them for you. I'll do the same when mine get here and I install them. Nice job! Looks like we may be the only ones to "see the light."
