Default Whats the best part of the Z51 package?

To those that have the Z51 package -
Is it the handling, the brakes, the performance, coolers, or?

All of it!! Of course, the drilled rotors are nice to look at.

I like the shorter gear ratios in the MN6 (I came from a Z06), and the bigger brakes are definitely a plus. I wish the tires weren't so doggone expensive, though.

I like the handling/ride, really tight. And the shorter throws, and the bigger brakes, and bigger anti-sways. And the extra coolers are sweet as well. Damn, I pretty much dig the whole package!

my favorite part is the net result of it all.....the handling!

next favorite is the peace of mind knowing those 3 coolers are there working for me.....

I like the tires that only last about 5,000 miles, can't drive on wet roads with, and cost $400 a piece to replace....that would be my favorite part.....

Every aspect of the Z51 with the resulting improved performance is worth it to me.
I would not have purchased the C6 without this package - it transforms the car into something even more sporting.
There is no penalty in ride comfort and like other's have written - the cross drilled brakes look great.

Considering this is my first Vette, then I have no prior Vette driving experience to fall back on. So.... I am glad that I got it even if for no other reason than so I would never have to say, "D@mn, I wish I would have gotten the Z51!"

I like the tires, brakes, suspension and how they translate into fantastic handling. I was showing a friend who is a vette fan, owns a 69 vert, my Z51 over the weekend. We took a sweeping 90 degree left turn, I entered the turn going 70 and accellerated through the turn. The yellow sign says you're supposed to slow to 30 mph. I don't know what G's we where pulling or how fast we got up to before he screamed at me to slow down. I just grinned and said, yeah I'm used to it.

I also think the oil cooler is great. I keep the oil temp on the DIC as my primary view. Keeps the oil at 214 degrees which I'm sure will benefit the long term durability of the engine. Can't wait to drive around in Vegas in July when it is 115 out to see how the oil cooler works.

BTW, I have 3,000 miles on my tires and I don't see any significant wear. I'm pretty confident I'll get 20K miles out of them. I know I'll be replacing with the supercar tires. The added cost and lower wear rating is worth it in my opinion.

Maybe I'm missing something. I keep hearing about the very short life span of the Supercar tires that I have on my Z51 package. My wife has high performance 160 wear rating Bridgestone's on her car. She has 10,000 miles on her tires and they look almost brand new. I'm sure she doesn't race the car, but she does drive it. I know a couple of club members that have old model Z06 cars and have 15,000 miles ontheir tires and they look only half worn. Just my 2 cents.

I like everything about the Z51 package especially the tight, firm ride. With the mixed reports on the tire wear, who knows what to believe. My car only has 600 miles, and at this rate, may never know at what mileage they wear out.

Default 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, because...

For me, by far, the biggest advantage is the 10%-15% shorter ratios in the first three gears. Who doesn't want a C6 that pulls harder through the first three gears...or am I missing something here??

I like the extra cooling, better braking and stiffer suspension. I don't see very many people here raving about the tires.

What happened your wife wouldn't let you get the Z51 package
I've got 5300 miles on my tires and they are almost brand new, so throw that theory out the window.

No evidence that that's all they last unless you spend all your time on the track

I drive on wet roads all the time - this is Florida

The last bit's true . . .
