Painted transparent top?
Can the transparent top be painted? I have been looking for Victory red top without success, and was thinking painting the transparent top red. Has anybody done such thing? Does it work?

Unless you really don't want the transparent top, I'd say keep looking for a solid top of any color and get it painted.
I had only a transparent top on my DSOM. I wanted both, so I finally found a black top and had it painted.
There is a solid top for sale on DC right now - I don't know what color it is, but you can always have it painted VR.
The solid top may be a little quieter in the cockpit - in addition to being made out of some different kind of material, it has a headliner in it.

I wouldn't paint plexiglass.... I believe that's what it is. It may ruin the top. Could flake the paint or warp the surface from the paint chemicals. You'd be much better off finding a solid color one and painting that. Way I see it, you ruin the transparent one and you'll need to buy a new one anyway. Another option would be to buy a used solid top, paint it, then sell your glass top to pay for the solid one.
Just some ideas...
