OEM Grand Sport stripes on non GS Vette?
I have a 2005 coupe with the Z51 package. I bought a set of official OEM Grand Sport stripes from someone who decided not to install after purchasing. I then realized the OEM stripes are specifically designed for the 2010-2013 GS Vettes, which have the wider Z06 fenders. I can sort of hold the hashes up to the fender to get an idea of what it will look like but it's hard to judge how the finished product will look, and if the fender is significantly narrower so that it wont look right after installed.
Has anybody installed the OEM GS hash marks on a non GS, or offer an opinion on how it looks? Or what the difference in the fender with is? It may be an insignificant difference where the marks get installed such that you cant tell with the naked eye. Perhaps I'm way over thinking it, but hey, if you cant obsess over your Corvette, what can you?!
Thanks for any advice, feedback, or especially pics!

If I had a set of authentic OEM hash strips I'd sell them on eBay where they bring $150 to $200 because some purest thinks they need OEM.
And then I'd buy a set of hash stripes off eBay for $20 that are cut and sized for a base and look exactly like the OEM, or order a custom set in the color and style of my choice.
I'd then take the $130 to $180 I'd just pocketed down to the local strip club and enjoy a cold beer, but that's just me.
But there is no reason to put the expensive OEM hash strips on a base when aftermarket will do as you are already breaking from "factory".
Anyhoo... just my two cents....

I had a set of GS stripes on my C5 base. I thought they looked good, and really didn't care much what others thought about it.

If the car is not a Grand Sport, they don't belong on there.

I saw some of the Tape stripes on a old Ford pickup the other day. Always though they looked silly.

I added my matte black hash marks after my car lapped sebring. Felt like it had earned them then.

If you like it, go for it and forget about what people think it’s your car after all
