If you want to decrease you visibility and, thus, safety further, just remove the bulbs......and....BLAMMO!! no DRLs.

There's not an easy way to disable them permanently. Some have searched for the fuse, but I don't think it's on a fuse by itself.

You can turn them off each time after you start the car, of course.

Based on some recent Forum posts, they will disable themselves soon.

what is the big deal ?

I disabled them on my C5's.

I don't drive into mirrors, whatever that's supposed to mean.

I just don't like them. If you do , great, more power to you.

If YOU are worried about your safety, then leave them on.

As far as them disabling themselves ,

So back to the original question, how do you disable the DRL's ?
Nobody has figured it out yet ? Maybe a relay or 2 ?

I agree. I hate them too. Why do these dorks have to chime in with their opinions?

If you don't have the answer then just don't reply you Jerk!

I wasn't refering to you. :-)

BTW the DRL's are also your turn signals. Unless there are two bulbs in there.

On the C5, it was done by isolating the contacts in the two relays that controlled the DRL's (I forgot what number the relays were). I would have to presume you can do it the same way on the C6. Maybe someone with a service manual can identify the DRL relay numbers for you.

Someone posted info on this in the frequently asked questions, but its all BS for the C6..maybe it worked on the C5.. I too would like to disable them, don't ask why, just tell us how !
Thanks.

The easiest and fastest way to disable them is to set the parking brake one click BEFORE starting the car. Now the DTR's won't come on when you start it. The trade off is that the "Brake" light will be on while you drive...

OK, OK, when you macho men are all done biting each other, will one of you answer a simple question, please? Why are DRLs on the front of the car only? Many of us do a lot of freeway and divided highway driving, and having a light in the front is of little value. It's the jerk in the back who is about to plow into you who needs to see a light! Why don't DRLs have the rear lit up, as well?
