C6 on the snow

C6 on the snow
Any chance to drive a C6 on the snow?
I have looked everywhere for snow tires that would fit the C6 with no much luck. Does anyone know of snow tires for the C6?

Sure ya can. Your traction control will help out some. Would not think of doing it personally but f'k it why not.

Try looking for the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S - they come in 285/35-19 rear size. Of course I'd only recommend this with the Z-51!

You may need different rims, although Yokohama may have them now. You'd need a lot of weight in the back, that's for sure.

I drove mine last winter with the non-Z51 all-seasons and it did fine in shallow snow with the TC. Once it gets over 3 inches, however, the airdam becomes a snowplow and that requires a whole 'nother setup. (Blade, lights, hydrolic lift.... )

Did last November
Got caught in an early season snow storm last fall at work one night, 15 miles from home. Blinding white outs, ice and freezing rain on the way home. White knuckle experience in 4th gear all of the way home..we made it safely, but not recommended for the faint of heart!
I do however, recommend that you purchase a front-wheel or all wheel drive beater...my '97 acura TL with 177K miles on the clock does the trick for Ohio weather!
I have heard that Goodyear will be making a set of all-season tires for the C6 this fall. There was a thread on it several weeks ago, but nothing on the Tire Rack web site yet.

Yup. Drove my C6 MN6 coupe all last winter in the Chicago Area. Put on 4 Blizzak's. 225/45-18 front and 255/40-19 rear. Absolutely no problems. Never got stuck. Just laughed at the expressions on the other driver's faces.
I was also considering the Dunlop's, but I ordered too late in the year and couldn't find the right ones. Everybody was out of stock.
Neither tire is a run flat.
Tire Rack is advertising runflats by Goodyear that they advertise as an all season tire. My experience is that in a snowy climate, dedicated snow tires are better than all seasons, and the Goodyears are spendy.
Order early. Tire Rack usually works best.
Have fun!!!!!

Can you - yes; should you - no. I've been in a couple of inches by mistake and the TC helps greatly but it's still a unnerving experience, mostly because of the other idiots on the road. If there are Blizzaks that will fit, they are great tires, used them all winter on a Miata and until it got too deep for the grill, it would tackle anything. Of course, you're probably talking another set of wheels for the snows and so the costs will mount up quickly and you still have to watch out for the other idiots on the road.
