DSOM vs Prowler Orange Pearl Metallic (pics)
No gripes, complaints, snivels, or nitpicking in this thread. Just wanted to share some pics of our "kids"!
I finally got the chance to get some pics of our DSOM C6 and '69 Firebird Convertible together.
The Firebird is Plymouth Prowler Orange Pearl Metallic and was painted three years ago, before DSOM was available. Until I got the cars side by side in the sun, I didn't realize how close the colors were. My wife and I spent nearly six months picking out the Firebird color. When we went shopping for our C6, the color choice was obvious!
We think it's kind of neat to have two completely different cars in the same color.
One of these days, my wife and I want to take them to the dragstip and run them side by side. The Firebird has gone 12.30 @ 112 on street tires through the mufflers. I think it would be neck and neck at the finish line.
BTW - Notice the license plate on the Firebird (WERE 69N). Cool when the wife is with me. Not so cool when my buddy is in the passenger seat!

Very Cool ! I was thinking of something similiar. I have a C-6 DSOM and was thinking of getting an older Corvette for my son and having it painted DSOM. My son is 19 and I have been looking at some 79's through 81's maybe with a white interior. Best part is his buddy's dad works at PPG and can hook us up with the paint.

The colors look very similar in those pics. If I'm not mistaken though, the Prowler orange has more pearl to it, right?
Nice rides! I also have two orange cars. 69 Camaro SS convertible, and 99 Camaro SS coupe.

You have two great cars, and I approve of the color choice.

I parked next to a Sunset Orange Pearl Honda Element, and it's almost the same color, too. It has a touch more red in it. (I love Elements for the $$$, but gawd are they fugly...)

American Muscle Cars, can't beat them!!
GM needs to bring back the Camero & Firebird based on the 69 models which IMHO where the best!

Hey Ghost!
That's pretty damn spooky (no pun intended)! You and me should start a club... I have a '69 Firebird 400 convertible too! The only difference I would like to paint my Vette the color my Firebird is (Winward Blue).
I don't have a nice side-by-side pic like your, I'll try to take one this weekend. Meanwhile, here's a picture of all my toys when I was cleaning out my garage preparing for Rita. Firebird front and center.
