Default My iPod install

Since it seems the CD changer will never come, I did an Ipod.

Used the modified for Nav AAI-GM24 adapter and an iPod Nano in black.

Works great!

Take a look.

Perio,

Looks Great, did you install?

Is there a AUX input on back of OEM Bose HU?

Thanks,
Robert

Yes I did the install. There is no input, the AAI-GM24 harness/adapter takes care of that.

Does not use an FM modulator. The AAI-GM24 hard wires it into the radio.

I am not sure about the AAI-GM24 but try http://www.pac-audio.com/

They have all kinds of adapters.

Great job and looks fantastic! I am considering doing the same. Can you post additonal installation instructions for us brave enough to follow your lead? Did you have to remove and of your console or did you cable from underneath?

The console and radio need to come out. It takes some time and patience but it is not tough.

All the wiring info comes with the AAI-GM24 from PAC.

If you have NAV, the harness needs to be modified.

Great job. If I try that, the car will never work right again. I'll pull the console & radio out alright, with extra parts

What did you use to mount the nano? If it's custom made, could you post a pic? Thanks

Can you give detailed info on all the parts you needed? What did you using to connect the iPod to that adapter? I just saw RCA outputs on it.

I was trying to figure out if the C6 (2006) was prewired for a changer or not because the shop I asked said if it was they could work something out, otherwise they'd have to hardwire something which would cost more.

I don't have the NAV like you do, but can you tell me if the thing was prewired for an external changer?

Your installation is very clean, good job. It appears that the mythical MP3 update for NAV radios that don't play MP3's is just that, a myth.

I don't own an iPod at this time but I do use a small MP3 player. Perhaps this is the way to go. Thanks for the post.

I believe that the non-MP3 capability refers to the OEM CD player decoding the MP3s. In this case the IPOD does the decoding and feeds audio signals to the Bose Head Unit (HU). The update for the Denso (Bose) Nav unit will change the firmware so that it is capable of decoding MP3 (type) encoded data written/recorded on a CD.

Just velco. This way it is easily removed to take to a computer to change the songs/update it. Also the work is completely reversible with not damge to the car whatsoever.

Since this setup uses the headphone jack, you can use any MP3 player.
