Default GM Credit Card

I couldn't find any related topics during a search. What is the max I can apply towards a Corvette purchase w/ dollars earned on the GM card?

The amount you can use depends on the type of GM card you have. If it is an older card (the "black" card), the amount is only limited by how much you have accrued. For most though, the max will be $1000. Call GM Card to ask which type of card you have. Don't trust the dealers to know.... mine didn't.

Default Gm Card

Correct.......there are two cards...the old card lets you earn up to $500 per year and you can apply whatever amo8unt you want to the Vette, but there is a limit on all cars of $3500 (and 7 years is the max years to earn).........the new card usually limits the rebate to $1000 on Vettes in the past....there is also a new business card, that you can earn 1% on everything with no max....but I'm not sure what the max number is....

To me, the best deal is the old card

I have the older card, the difference is you can only "earn" $500.00 per year, and keep it for 7 years (Max $3,500.00). But you can use the whole thing for a Vette...

BTW, the old card is now silver...

P.S. Watch out, they will try to flip you to the NEW card, if you have the old, keep it...

For what ever reason, I've earned more than $500 some years.

I thought it was $500/year also, but I've gotten $2000 earned in less than a year using it for personal and business expenses.

When I used mine two months ago there was no limit on the vehicle just the max earned on the card. The more you use the card the less you earn

Then you have the newer card... Its lets you earn over 500 per year, but limits how much of those you can apply towards your purchase, and that also varies model to model.

The older is the best, limits the amount per year but unlimited towards any model.
Also interesting with this card. Once you have used the card for 7 years/84 mo., the 85th month get credited but your very first month of earnings gets deducted, and so on, so you don't go much above 3.5k, but also can go below, making you want to use them!
Thats how I have bloo.

FYI, you can pass points to family members also

The new cards earn more a year but are more limited on the amount of earnings you can use.

What do I look for on the statement to tell me which version I have?
I know I've accumulated a total of $2200.00 in earnings but I always assuned I could only use $1k of it towards the C6.

Good question. I've wondered the same thing myself. Old GM Card here. Lifetime redemption ~$8.7k since '95 (first redemption was in '95 after accruing for a few years prior, and also received a $2k GM Card bonus earning just about this same time last year on our '05 Z71 Tahoe for those of you doing the math).

Redemption Activity:

Last Redeemed Date: 12/05/2005

Last Redeemed Vehicle: '06 CHEVROLET CORVETTE

Last Redeemed Amount: $594.37 (~1 yr accrual since December '04)

Lifetime Earnings Redeemed: $8,693.11 = ~$2.6 '95 Sonoma, ~$2.0k '00 C5, ~$1.0k '02 C5, ~$2.5k '05 Tahoe Z71, & ~$600 '06 C6.

Sorry General, but you can't have any of that money back!

Have the newer card and used it twice once on a 05 vert and once on a 06 vert both times 1000$ max.
