NCM Delivery vs. State Inspection Sticker
Hello.....A question for you NCM delivery guys (and gals...TrayC6)
I will be taking a Museum delivery next month and a question popped into my head while laying awake in bed last night with Corvette insomnia.
I'm down here in Texas where we go through the ridiculous annual charade of getting our vehicles inspected. (At least new cars gets a 2 year sticker).
Yes it is a royal PITA but anyway the question is;
Should I assume that my C6 will come with no stickers whatsoever and I will need to get inspected when I get home?
Thanks!
Reid

No sticker except NCM and a temp. Reg from my states DMY when I left the museum.
When I got back to NYS I went to my selling dealer and got a inspection sticker.

You need to get your inspection sticker from your selling dealer or in your state when you get home.

I'm from Texas, and before I went to Bowling Green, I picked up the registration and temporary tag from the dealer. I drive it home without the inspection sticker. A few days after getting home, I went by the dealer and got the inspection sticker at no cost. Theoretically, a cop could have given me a ticket for no sticker during that 3 day interval, but I don't think very many cops are that ****.

I’m in the same boat.
I pick up my car at the museum on Friday.
PA has annual state inspections.
I figured I’d have at least 15 or 30 days to get it inspected.
Since its winter in the northeast, I have to wait for a clear day to go to a local dealer for the inspection.

I live in Tx and purchased my C6 in Oklahoma. Brought it to a "Quick Lube" for inspection. Showed them my proof of insurance. Two minute test and the sticker was on the windshield

Call your DMV and ask them, or possibly you can get this information on line.
I took 3 days getting back to NYS, (call it a field trip) then went to the dealer 3 days after I got home.

I didn't get my inspection sticker till I got my registration sticker and plates in the mail. I tried to do the inspection sticker prior to getting the plates and registration sticker and got some BS about an additional fee for out of state so I just waited till I got the plates in and didn't have to pay an out of state fee. I called a local dealer about getting the two year inspection sticker but since I purchased out of state from a forum dealer the local dealer said no dice. Since the car is new you only pay a little over $10 per inspection for the first two years since they don't have to do an emissions test. As far as how long you have till you could get a ticket I'm not sure, I doubt a LEO would care as long you have your temp plate on but I could be wrong.

Every state has different laws. In NY you bring your Permanent plate and tempt registration sticker for window with you . Get your inspection sticker when you get back home.
Remember folks every state could have different laws

As others have stated you need to get the car inspected yourself when you arrive in your home state. I did manage to get the new car 2 year sticker by going to a local dealer for the inspection.

Take it to the dealer when you get back...you get a 2 year sticker in TX because it's a new car, and it will be included in the price you pay when the dealer does the paperwork which you need to take with you.
My TX dealer was nice enough to give me 2 temp tags, and it turned out to be a good thing. We had lots of rain during our week long jaunt home, and the first one got soaked and we lost it. I bought some clear tape and covered the 2nd one to protect it. It took about 5 min for the dealer to do the inspection when I picked up my tags and returned the paper one.
Enjoy the NCM experience and your new car! Both are awesome!!

Inspection??? On a brand new car??? Obviously a revenue stream by the local authorities. I wonder how many fail, zero? Or perhaps zero. Or maybe it's zero. I'm so relieved they are requiring this on a BRAND NEW CAR. It's obviously keeping the roads a lot safer for all of us.
