Paint Shop / Paint Questions - Boca Raton Area?
I've been thinking of painting my interior trim pieces to match the car. I thought about purchasing the GM one, but they don't make it in Mag Red. Now I know one of the vendors will do it. But, I've been thinking, if I'm going to get it painted (rather than factory painted), may as well have them spray a bunch of parts at the same time. For instance, may as well have them do the FRCs, air intake, and other parts.
So, does anyone know of a local paint shop near me that can do this kind of custom work? Boca Raton, Delray, Deerfield, etc.
Also, can I spray it myself? It seems this would require a spray gun with a compressor, which is probably cost prohibitive for this job.

Anyway, if you don't already own a professional quality spray gun and a compressor, oil-free air system, breathing equipment, experienced with catalyzed paints, etc., etc., you are probably better off to let a shop paint the parts for you.
I believe Magnetic Red, like Monterey Red, is a tri-coat system, i.e., it has a metallic base coat, a tinted metallic mid-coat, and clear coat. That in itself is not a big problem if you are painting complete parts...but if you are trying to spot a repair, then you are definitely at advanced professional skill level. Even painting complete parts in these tri-coat systems will require good skills, but not beyond the typical professional body shop..
There are a lot of particulars in prepping for BC/CC paint systems, as well as color sanding and buffing after it's done. If it isn't color sanded and buffed, BC/CC, particularly when painted by a novice, will look like poo. Unless you just want the learning experience, and want to run the risk of your Vette parts looking mediocre, I would say skip all the expenses and let someone paint it for you. Trust me...you will save a ton of money in the long run.
Sorry...can't help with any paint shops in Boca Raton.

Time to look for a body shop.

Interior trim
Pods
Air intake – 3 pieces (center and two sides where the filters sit)
Fuse box cover
Coolant cover
Fuel rail covers (2)
And I only broke a few clips! I had a dremmel for the cup holder surround, but I couldn't find the dremmel bits. Ended up using my Porter Cable cordless drill with a metal bit very carefully.
You didn't tell me, Ed, how the clip for the power top comes off...that one was a bitch! Took the longest!
