Back in July c6Firstvette posted removing rust from his rotors and the process also coated them with zinc phosphate.I'm wondering how they held up,am thinking about doing the same, Thanks.

I saved the original post some time ago, but I think this may exceed my talent level or patience level, or both. I currently have the car on jack stands, have taken the wheels off, and have used masking tape in preparation for hand painting the calipers w/o removing them.

If I were going to de-rust the rotors, I guess now would be the best time. Sure would appreciate some assistance, though.

Several weeks ago I saw an ad while surfing for brake rotors that said theirs were already coated and the rotor vanes and "hat" wouldn't rust. Now I can't find it. Does anybody know where to get already-coated rotors? It's not that I'm lazy, well not the only reason, but my rheumatoid arthritis precludes me from turning wrenches to high torque numbers. Therefore, if I can buy them I can get my mechanic to install them for me.

Hope this isn't a hijack, but it seems somewhat related! Thanks!

Why? what happened? BTW they rusted around the part the brake pad does not touch, hub is good. I cleaned and painted with high heat paint. They look fantastic now.

He ended up charging me $125 when he did yours because they said when the washed them it contaminated the Zinc tank and he could not use it for anything else.
My brand new ones he would not even touch and told me to have them sandblasted and then bring them back
Never heard of sandblasting your rotors and did not think it was a good idea Espically brand new ones.

I pmed C6firstvette and asked him how what he did held up.

So i bought a gallon and soaked my new ones

Now i have to wait untill the spring to drive it and see how it holds up!
