Daytona Sunset VS Atomic Orange
Looking at some of the pictures here I can't really tell a huge difference between the two colors.
I know the Atomic Orange is for the 07's. Did they really change the color that much or did they just rename it?

There have been pics here of 2 C6s with the different colors. They're different. Here's a link to a thread.

Maybe you're just color blind.

The color difference is quite noticeable.

We Have
an 06 DSOM and I saw the new Atomic. There is quite a bit of difference. The Atomic is a not a drak and orange as the DSOM. It still looks good. We would have gotten the Atomic if we would have had to turn our 06 in and get another.
Luckily they seem to have everything on the right courseand that won't happen.

I agree it's a pretty noticeable difference. I'd describe DSOM as more of a rust color (more shifted toward red) and Atomic Orange as more toward "pure" orange with less red overtones. Hard to describe a color I guess.

I've seen AO in person and it definitely looks better in the bright sunlight in real life than it does on computer monitors (most of which are nowhere near close to being color calibrated like the one I use at work for example)
But one thing that disappoints me is that GM didn't use the same orange that came on the Grand Am. They had an orange called Fusion Orange which was a little bit brighter of an orange than Atomic Orange and would've looked nicer.

I had a 350Z (Lemans Orange Metallic) before I bought my Daytona Sunset Vette, the Atomic Orange is about half way between the two.
No, I don't love orange that much, I just like to be a little different. Damn, I love orange cars.

Look at the Atomic Orange coupe's top for a color difference!!
Over the past two weeks, I have seen three new Coupes at local Phoenix area dealers that are painted with the new 83U Atomic Orange Metallic Tintcoat in the bright Arizona sun.
All three coupes had the standard painted removable top - which is not an exact match to the body color. For $750.00, the new orange is very nice and attractive on the body and shimmers in the sun with golds, silvers, and other metallics in the clearcoat but the removable painted tops on all 3 coupes were duller than the body, looking like the same clearcoat was not used on the tops that is used in the robots at the Assembly Plant painting the body. If you look at the top in bright sunlight, you can see the difference when you look over the roof bar, painted by the robots and the top painted at the suppliers location. Not a good match!!
One of the three atomic orange coupes had very bad orange peel which was clearly seen when you looked down the side of the fenders while the other two coupes were nice and smooth with no really visible orange peel. So the robots need to be treated nice to get a perfect job.
I'd buy the Atomic Orange convertible or coupe with the clear plastic top, but not with the painted top.

On the Vette's own website, GM used the same angle/shot of the AO and the Daytona Orange I had saved the jpg file from last year and when I compared the two I could not tell the difference.
