The time has come for a new one.
After two wonderful years with my '05, im thinking of trading in for an '07. My dealer has one loaded up just like mine but with nav. Any regrets from people who ordered factory nav who wish they got the bose 6 disc?

I took delivery on my 07 vert 3 weeks ago. I ordered it with: VY, MN6, Z51, Chrome Wheels, 3LT and NAV. Nav was the only thing that I could have gone either way on, but decided to go for it. I'm really glad I did too. Easy to use, interfaces with the HUD and the features on the Nav communicate with the sound system too. Some members have complained about the Bose system but I think it's great. You might miss the 6 CD changer but I'm going to add an IPOD interface once I've heard that they have been perfected. Also, My C6 is a weekend driver and that's when one would use a NAV system more because of going to unfamiliar places, IMO.

I just put a pioneer avic-z1 and there is no way i would go with fac nav. Its got bluetooth, ipod adaptor, great nav, plays dvds and rips cds right on to the hard drive. Did the install my self, everything was less than 2000. Also has a 7" screen and looks factory.

I have the factory nav on my car and really like it. It does everything that I could want plus more. The interface with the HUD and voice commands are very nice features also. You can play MP3 discs with the nav radio, and I guess that you can get 10 or more CD's on one of those, so that makes the 5 CD changer irrelevant to me.
Contrary to what some others say, to me the Bose system on the 3LT is just fine for my ears. I just don't need any more base or frequency response than the Bose gives me.

I don't know if things have changed for 07 but when I bought my 06 I compared the nav radio with the 6 disk mp3 changer (both LT3 cars) and I could not find any bass in the Nav radio. I found all the bass I needed with the non nav radio when choosing "custom" Eq setting and dialing up bass, midrange, and treble. Go figure.....I would have thought the best audio would coincide with the Nav setup.

Also, while I probably won't use it, you can go with "street" as your HUD display, and if you do, the Nav next turn and direction appear on the HUD, which is pretty helpful if you're driving around strange places at night.

I did manual, as I don't like bass, but you can get plenty of bass if you want it. Coming from my crappy Blaubunked Alcapulco the Bose sounds pretty good. Of course once the top comes off, all bets are off.

I have the 6 CD changer in my car but I never use it. I use the XM radio instead. I haven't bought a CD since I've had XM.
The NAV system would be a nice gee-wiz trinket to have in my opinion but I'd not turn a car down without it.

does the factory nav play mp3's? i think that is my biggest sticking point. i cant imagine going back to 17 or 18 songs at a time after being spoiled with 100+ songs per cd.

To Nav or not to Nav?
Last Friday I went to a party after our monthly Corvette Club meeting. I followed a sting of vetts there. Upon leaving the party it was foggy and I was not sure of the best way back to the interstate. Turned on the Nav, punched in "HOME" and in short order I was on my way. I have used it way more than I ever thought I would. Worth the money IMO.

I'm really happy with the factory NAV and I especially like the way it interfaces with the HUD.
With the ability to record MP3 discs, availability of IPod interfaces, and XM radio,; how important is a 6 CD changer? If you later find that you really need the 6 disc changer, you can add it.

Why are you thinking of trading for a 2007? Is there something about your 2005 that you're not happy with? You'll pay quite a lot of $$$ to move up two model years; unless you're going to get an '07 that's equipped significantly differently than your '05 I'm not sure what the benefits of such a move would be. Just wondering.
